I applied for Chase Reserve credit card but was denied for insufficient credit history (3 years). Any other great travel credit cards I may have a better shot with? Thanks!

Did you try calling the number on the letter? I was rejected first and called to ask more info about the decision. I told them I have stable income and work at a large company. The approved me right away over the phone

huh..thats weird. i applied with 1 year credit history. rumor said..put a minimum of 40k in your checking + saving

funny

I didn’t have 40k in my account, but got approved for Chase Reserve. Had been using 2 cards to bump-up my credit score (at that time, both AmEx - Delta and Costo), and charged everything I can on those two. Maybe you didn’t really have enough credit history built-up. If this is the case, you may not get the other good ones. Try CapitalOne Venture Card or a co-branded one (i.e. Delta/United).

D1 is spot on. "I work for [any firm posting on FB] and make [any salary of anyone posting on FB]," usually gets you accepted immediately.

Anybody applied with no US financial history but Canadian financial history?

Uber Visa

Oh wow thanks D1, great thought. Didn’t even think to consider that...

Got the tip from a friend who had the same situation ;). Gluck OP

Need everyone’s help. I tried the tactic of explaining my company and salary but they didn’t budge given my 2-3 years of credit history. What do I do? Originally applied for Chase reserve, now applying to Chase Preferred to see if my chances are improved with that. Am I crazy?

I work at a boutique (currently ~14 bankers and 10 back office roles). Joined in august. Since august, 3 senior bankers (MD / VP) 1 HR director, and now 2 analysts have left for great opportunities. To be honest I’m happy and like my role, plus it’s too early to think about switching firms already. I am now the only analyst left, we have another one joining in January.
