Who works at DoorDash corporate and can give me advice on interviewing? I have my first round of interviews for a S&O role next week. I know there’s mixed feelings about working there but I need this job and it pays well. I’m working a temp job now and I need something permanent. I do have tech startup experience. Advice and insight would be appreciated!
If you're genuinely still interested in the job, you can do the interview. But, if it were me, I would ask for clarity in their process and what exactly they are looking for because they seem disorganized.
Something similar happened to me a few weeks ago. About an hour before my scheduled phone interview I received a text from the recruiter I was working with that said the position had been filled. It was bizarre because she had literally called me to schedule the interview the day before. A few hours later, at the time we had scheduled, the hiring manager called me to do the interview. I didn't say anything about the text I received, hoping it was an error on the part of the recruiter. A few hours later I received an email from the hiring manager saying she hadn't realized the position was already filled, and apologized for taking up my time. I was confused and annoyed but also grateful because it seems I dodged a bullet. I couldn't work for such a disorganized company!
If you really want the position it can't hurt to do the interview. I would definitely be on the look out for any potential other red flags though!
hahah... in my case they interviewed me 5 times in one week each with a different person and I was sure I got the job. Next thing I know they hired someone else. 2 weeks later they wanted me to interview again. I told the agent I wanted another $10/hour and went for the interview and got hired. 2.5 years ago. I was their best producer, 5 x faster than anyone else. just got laid off last week along with 5 others. Now again looking for work.
Don’t bother with them. Seems they’re very unprofessional and its starting off negative.
Don't waste your time interviewing with a company that is both very unprofessional and completely disorganized. It sends a really bad message because both are HUGE red flags
I would go up the chain. Talk to them about what's happened and how this makes them look. And be glad you dodged that nonsense!
