Additional Posts in Amazon Interview Prep
I had a phone screening with a recruiter from Facebook (Meta) but I let it slip that I was in the final stages of interviewing at Amazon, though she continued to ask me about my experience. I thought it was a great convo but I got a standard email a couple days later that they weren’t moving forward with me. The only reason I could think of was what I said about interviewing at Amazon. Is that normal that they would not be interested in me if I’m close to getting an offer elsewhere?
Rejected Amazon offer for better WLB and $. But I started this new role and quickly feel that the job is very different than its job description. Thinking about looking for a new role.
How can I have Amazon take me back? The offer is effective for 6 months, right? I do know the role I was offered had been filled.
Happy to go through the interview process again for a different role with Amazon, but what I should say about starting my current role for only one month? Amazon
Often it takes awhile to line you up with the right job to kick off the process, unfortunately. Referrals should help that in theory, but that position might be in the process of getting filled or may not be deemed to be the best fit. Our recruiting teams also go through a lot of resumes/applications, so the experience can be hit or miss. Talk to the person who referred you and suggest that they reach out to the hiring manager and recruiter directly, as that usually helps things move along. Just submitting a referral often doesn’t do much.
I’ve been “under consideration” for a role for a year. I too had multiple internal referrals from senior executives. As you might imagine, I’ve long since moved on.
I applied to several other roles, and very slowly (over 6+ months), the dashboard has been updated with those other roles dropping off as no longer being considered. In fact, several of the positions only ever showed as “application submitted” and then suddenly showed up as archived. Other positions for which I was “under consideration” have also been archived. The process is unceremonious and generally without any communication (e.g., email or text) alerting you to a status change aside from checking the portal.
