Unless this is a job you would prefer to take, I would email the second firm saying that it’s been X months since you applied, that you have taken another position in the meantime, and you are no longer interested. There is no need to waste your time or their time if you are not going to take the job. Also, a great reminder to their HR team to be more efficient with their recruiting process for other applicants. But if you really want to see if they would give you a better offer, put your minimum salary / total compensation in your email response and see if they’ll bite at it. Again, no need to waste your and their time interviewing if it isn’t going to be good enough.

Right. If you're honest about your primary previous employers termination date, that's good enough. No need to disclose any recent new role if you don't want to.

How do I deal with this: junior colleague on one of my teams right now for whom English is not her first language. Embarrassingly bad spelling and grammatical mistakes on decks. Can’t lead interviews with clients bc often they don’t understand her. PD says its all part of coaching and development. But I need to review content, NOT be her ESL tutor, which it feels like I am at the moment. PS. Yadda yadda, I get it: “languageism” is an extension of whiteness and I need to check my privilege.

In July I missed my promo to SM. A woman has been preferred even if she was underqualified (my MD's words), as at Accenture we have quotas for women. I'm interviewing with Deloitte, they told me I'll help building the practice. In the meantime I was assured by my MD that in December I'll get the promo. I don't really care changing company, even if I've built a network, I don't think I need to wait if I can. Your thoughts?

Made a mistake of moving to US 10 years ago thinking this was the best country! Finally after looking for a good job opportunities for 3 years and several rounds of interviews, moving to Switzerland for good.
