Take the 10k increase in base, it’s the better offer now and in the long run.
Always take base increase. Your bonuses in the future will be more because of it.
Friend asked for five additional vacation days. 10 company said no but offered him $20,000 more base.
Remarkable. It concerns me that you were able to get hired.
How does nobody understand taxes? I wish people had to pass a test before they were allowed to vote on certain topics 😂
Bonus is better for up front payment. But base had more advantages in my opinion - it is the basis for 401(k) matches, standard / inflation pay rises, on target bonus payments, baseline for future moves, annual payment vs. one-time, etc
no brainer . base is the actual salary , more the better
More guaranteed money is always the better option
Increase in base is better. Bonuses are discretionary. Salary is guaranteed.
Yeah.. say no to an increase in base.. smh.
Seriously?? They should withdraw offer immediately for that question.
Obviously better in base since that moves forward every year vs one time bonus.
Unbelievable
Blown away at the responses to this
I would’ve thought someone working at PwC would know this!

Base. It may not seem a bigger deal but 10k more on base means higher bonus.
Referral?
Base is better.
Take the base increase
I'll give you a one-time ducky today.... OR.... I'll give you one ducky every year that you work here.
Increase in base is better, they have to pay you that each yr but bonus is one time
Bonus also has to be repaid if you leave within 1 year (possibly 2 depending on amount). Base is a sure thing and helps into the future. It’s possible that they found it easier to push you up a cohort than to get approval for additional bonus.
Always take the increase in base.
Is this a real question? Base is guaranteed at least $10k year over year.
