I too joined as a fresher at PwC AC Bangalore. I am currently Associate 1, Can I expect atleast 20% hike in few weeks and a bonus of 1L? Any chances of being promotes to Associate 2?
I think many companies really gave very good hikes(got to know from my friends) due to Market Correction and demand etc. Now I feel like switching PwC

This country wouldn't even be here if it weren't for immigrants. Locking them out would cause so much harm. It's impossible to imagine what we would do if it weren't for the rich heritage we enjoy
Wow, it's clear you didn't read OP's question... they said nothing about being anti-immigration, they were just talking about whether the law is too strict or too lenient. Not trying to outlaw immigration. Sheesh
I think the best way to strengthen border laws is to require people who want to be part of the country to make some kind of contribution to society, a very good strategy is the one used by Canada in its selection process.
Yes, it is an unpopular opinion and it has a lot to do with the fact that many of us who are in the country come from being immigrants, but something must indeed be done to improve the entry processes and to have better control of the people who enter the country.
I think you'd be surprised at how many people share your stance. Immigration laws exist for a reason, and it's to keep people safe (including those who are the victims of human trafficking). If the laws aren't enforced then what good are they anyway?
I don't think it's so much about whether the laws are too strict or too lenient, it's more important to focus on if they are being enforced or not. You can have the strictest laws known to man and still have a problem if you aren't doing anything to make sure people follow the law.
I don't think the problem with the laws is that they're not strict enought. I think what should change is that we should create more and better paths to citizenship. A lot of immigrants are simply escaping dire conditions and just want to make a living and feed their families
