I believed it is important to take vacation for not only your personal health, but also so your manager realizes your worth to the team/end product when your not there

Have a little over 5 YOE & several manager level roles with experience in change management, SaaS, technology implementations, Salesforce, healthcare. Making $135k now - what roles can I look for with this experience / a pay bump? Debating on investing on our first rental property. We were initially thinking about a rental in our area code (northern virginia) but all ideas/threads on here seem to indicate renting a beach front property on airbnb would be a win-win. Get mortgage covered over the summer and use it as a vacation home during winter. Is it that straightforward, what are we missing? Any reasons why we should not invest in a beachfront and instead stick to original plan? Tia!

Does anyone use Root insurance? I’m intrigued by the low prices (my quote is about $85 vs my current $150 with State Farm) but am concerned as to whether it’s legitimate. More specifically if I ever do get into a serious accident are they reliable? This assumes same coverage for both policies.

When you get a rental car, what do you do to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of for some bogus issue/scratch that’s already on the car? Take pic/video before, tell the checkout person of any issues (although this can be hard especially if at a smaller airport & you get the keys in the airport and there’s no gate when you leave), buy the rental insurance? If you have a card that covers rental cars (CSR, Amex Hilton) do you decline rental insurance and use the card benefits?

Just started at a Family Law firm and am low on work (came from another state so didn't bring my clients with me). It has been a while since I started fresh. I make a decent base salary but I need those billable hours to make more. How long does it take to be busy again!? I've joined an expanding firm and the lead attorney is helping me by giving me tasks to do. Just not as busy as I'm used to (this will be my 3rd week). Just need a pep talk I think 😊

I’m 28 going on 29 and been receiving passing comments from my peers at work that it’s dumb to put a lot of $ into property. I live in LA on the west side and decided to put $500k down and take out a $400k mortgage for a 3BD/3BA condo. I dumped most of my net worth (excluding 401k, IRAs, and $100k in cash/stocks) into the condo but also didn’t feel comfortable taking out a $700k loan just to retain some savings. Did I make a bad financial decision? I love my place but starting to doubt myself...
