I bought my first home last year and have a 15 year mortgage on it. I have had a 800+ credit score consistently. During Feb this year, the mortgage company changed and my autopay no longer worked. I tried setting it up in March but due to technical issues it wasnt fully setup. I missed my payments for 3 months (April May and June) as I was traveling internationally and didnt receive any mails or calls regarding the same. My credit score plunged down to 618. Is there any way to fix this?

Bring your mortgage current, pay your mortgage bill monthly going forward, and give it time.

This! And possibly maybe talk to one of those credit repair specialists if the credit score is hurting you on future purchases that you might want to make.

I feel like those folks with 800+ credit scores take their credit scores very seriously.

If not, just give it time.

like

Once you bring it current, call the mortgage company and ask them if they can do anything to change the way those months are reported in their reporting to the credit bureaus. It’s an unusual situation so I don’t know - they may or may not be able to help.

Otherwise, once you get back to current your score will quickly improve (probably back to prime territory within 3-6 months), but it may not get all the way back to 800 for years.

My brother is such an asshole and is so difficult to be around, even for a few days. He’s grumpy and volatile. If I had it my way, I would see him once a year to keep my parents happy and call it a day. I commented to my mom today how he’s just such a prick and she looked really sad. I firmly believe in her heart of hearts she knows, but I just go on with the show to keep her and my dad happy. Just venting more than anything but it sucks!!!

Let me know if anyone can help me with this query.

I had 2 rounds of interviews with EY GDS. Followed by HR reaching out to get documents and relevant information. Please mind HR discussion has not happened yet.

Its been more than a week since there is no response from HR side/GDS team.

Does this mean that they did not consider me? Because I believe that HR asking for docs is a clear indication that I cleared my interviews.

Is this a norm? Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I recently joined a company that is male dominated. During dessert time, while all the associates were networking a male colleague asked me out of nowhere & in front of everyone “are you wearing a religious dress?”. I do dress conservatively and I’m proud of how I represent myself. But, I was offended since his comment was openly racist + I’m a new employee too! Q: is this common to hear when working with men? How can I develop thick skin for bullshit comments from men like this?

Just graduated with Bachelors in Healthcare Management with an emphasis on patient safety/quality. My current position, that I’ve had since before graduation, does not offer upward movement and I’m miserable. I’ve been in healthcare for 7+ years with a very broad range of customer service/insurance/process improvement roles. I’ve applied to hundreds of jobs, had only a handful of interviews, which have all ghosted. What am I doing wrong here? Any advice appreciated.

I currently have 10% shares in a very small f&b group owns 2 restaurant outlets.

One of them have been hit with covid and we are suffering in sales. Our director somehow don’t believe in marketing and will not budge to allocate resources to hire a personnel. Our staff are underpaid so there are no incentives for them to go beyond their SOW.

What are some of the ways to drive more sales?

Potentially dumb question here: I am starting law school soon and will not be employed (net income of $0 assuming I don’t get a good summer internship next summer). Does it make sense for me to sell my personal investments next year (assuming my income will still be zero) so I’m paying a 0% capital gains tax rate? I’d just rebuy all of the same stocks immediately… am I missing something?

I messed up and didn’t do my due diligence for a mortgage rate before paying the application and getting conditional approval. The rate is bad 3.25 credit score of 802. I can get a better rate with a different broker. but I feel like I’m breaking some sort of policy by swapping and saving myself the money. I still have time to swap and close. Am I being an unnecessarily empathetic?

I've always aggressively contributed to my tax advantaged retirement accounts, and I'm fortunate to have a solid amount set aside there.
However now I'm realizing that to meet my FIRE goals, I'd really benefit from the dividend income that those retirement funds could otherwise be generating in a taxable brokerage account.
