Maybe schedule some strategy/discussion/get to know you time. That way you can sit down and level set. It can be uncomfortable, but I’ve said to colleagues before - it seems as if there is some confusion on roles that is creating tension. I really want to be sure we’re operating efficiently and effectively and that the client sees us as a unified team so that he/she/it will be confident as we head into trial. Can we just take some time to reset and refresh?
Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. But - at least you can say you did everything you could.
A1, agree with you; however, it is business I brought with me to the firm. Most people who do this are the lead trial attorney on the file in my experience.

My understanding is that we were to be co lead trial counsel for this case. I’ve deferred to her on a lot and have only disagreed when I thought my license was being jeopardized and/or the clients interests were not being served.
When I disagree with her on something she refuses to hear what I have to say and instructs me to essentially shut up and follow her “instructions.” She’s been wrong on both factual and legal issues. I raised this to my boss (a man) who seems to not want to get involved too much. Any advice? I’m exhausted dealing with this woman.
She is of counsel, not a partner. But I agree she does not view us that way.
