So tough! I love both the names, so you can’t go wrong either way. I’d choose Yuvan because it’s more unique :) Congratulations on your baby boy 🎊

Name Arjun has timeless charm. With that being said, you don’t want your kid to join a team meeting after 21 years to realize that there are 2 more Arjuns on the call. Yuvan sounds like name from this generation, has freshness.

True: couple things in favor of Yuvaan: it's fresh, deep meaning-Name of Lord Shiva, Americans pronounce it well. Still an Indian name so u haven't compromised for americanness.

In a world full of Arjuns let him be a Yuvan.

Told you so 😜

How about both- Arjun +Yuvan= Arvan or Arjan

Actually Firstname Arjun Middlename Yuvan Problem solved He can always go by first name or middle name per his liking.

OP one advise: with final shortlisted names run by a couple American friends and see how they pronounce it. We did with 10+ friends before finalizing the name. Good luck.

Vote for Yuvan. You can call him yuvi for short!

like

We call ours Yuvu but eventually will become Yuvi as he grows older :-)

Yuvan

Congrats!! People here might find it more difficult to pronounce Yuvan than Arjun if your son goes to school in US.

If you live in a state with high Mexican population, they’d call your baby Arhun. I would have picked this name regardless, it has a very strong meaning.

Yuvan Arjun is more of a Gen X name.

like

Americans will mistaken this as Juan

Would it make a diff since the alphabets are far off. A & Y. Is there any disadvantage of one over another?

smart

Arjun’s more basic but it’s also much easier to grow up in America w that name

Never saw an Arjun at Deloitte.. just saying 🤷🏽‍♂️

And only one Yuvan, that too in Deloitte Mauritius.

So many Arjuns so Yuvan. Yuviiiii will get love easily too!

My son is entering Kindergarten and his (great but hamstrung) public school can only offer 60-85 minutes per day for remote learning, 3 days per MONTH in-school. Just not feasible for a working mom in this industry. So I met some parents, we hired a private teacher, and I’m rolling with a 4-family homeschool pod. I’m keeping my kid in public school, hoping the curriculums can align and not go crazy. Love and strength to all moms and dads and partners out there. It’s tough - but so are we!

Question: I’ve seen so many women get in mommy mode and throw their hobbies, careers, everything to the side as soon as a baby arrive. I don’t want to do that and in my mind I feel that I’ll still get to be myself. Does being a mom naturally make you lose your previous identity? It’s hard enough trying to move up within our roles but is this naturally in us?

I grew up with strict father who doesn’t like getting happy and showing emotions , there are instances I felt this was specifically for women. When I got out of my home around 17 for college I became a very cheerful and excited person for every single thing. I loved myself , enjoy every sunset etc. met my boyfriend who was an introvert but he used to feel so happy seeing me happy for tiny things in life. FF 7 years - married and all I hear is sarcastic comments for my emotions. Contd..
