I can't handle my Q4 deal volume the way I have before. I'm so emotionally exhausted that I can barely manage an 8-hour day. My long-distance partner is a doctor treating covid patients. My family is 3,000 miles away. I have no one I can delegate work to. I just don't know what to do…is quitting my only option?

Can you outsource anything? House cleaning, meal prep, laundry? It’s ok to spend money on these things if you have the means to do so and it can help you remain sane and ok.

There are some great services that send premade meals that are of fresher/higher quality than buying a frozen dinner—Freshly comes to mind.

... are we co-workers? Cause this sounds like everyone in my group.

If quitting is not an option.. then you have to break it down in small bites. Literally dealing with your day 30 min on/ then 30 min off. Until you feel you can do more at a time.

No. Stop taking work or threaten to until you get help. You take care of yourself and your partner.

Nothing to say except I feel the exact same way. Lonely, exhausted, not nearly the reserves to grind through these year end deals as I have before. Sending you solidarity and support and hope that things will, at some point, get better.

Hot take of 2020: let’s just establish a “freedom” states for the true Americans. Pick a state, and relocate everyone who’s abusing safety measures and/or not taking Covid-19 seriously as well as other ppls well beings to that state. These all included folks spitting and coughing on others. In that state, they can live however they want, They can walk around with no masks and cough all they want. An environment where they can truly exercise their freedom. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Where is the ideal city that you would move to post covid? Currently in Chicago and don’t think will stay long for the high property tax& corrupt government. Lived in NYC and Boston before but feel the real estate would be a bit prohibitive. I want to start building up equity instead of giving money to landlords, while still living in a city

Just got the bill from a hospital visit two weeks ago (we woke up to a miscarriage, our “nurse-on-call” said to call 911 immediately since the bleeding was so extreme and not clotting, and had to have an emergency D&E at the hospital) $21,000....!!! And the bill says “Payment due upon receipt” with no other information. Luckily we have insurance, they just filed it wrong but HOLY HELL! I’m honestly shocked.. I knew our healthcare system was bad but this is just unacceptable.
