I can’t stop thinking about how I may have low balled myself. I asked for $85k and above, but now I want $90k and above. How do I go about this and ask for more? Still haven’t had the interview yet though. Any advice on when and how to do so?

Nail the interview and when you’re talking to recruiter let them know you initially asked for a certain range in comp but now understand that the role has greater scope than you initially imagined and would prefer a salary in $90k+ range

Don’t waste everyone’s time. The more interviews you attend, you will become emotionally more attached to that job, the recruiter will knock you down during the salary negotiation. Just apply for other jobs.

You will be emotionally more attached to that job and you will be hesitant to walk away.

You should have realized this would be a risk…

smart

With any salary negotiation, you have to be willing to walk away if you don’t get it. First rule of negotiation is the person that wants it least wins. Desperation is easy to sense!

Although the recruiter did say, they have my best interest but I’m not sure. Will they really not give me $5K more? How common is it for them to say yes to $5K more

Figure out what your worth. You should not just be looking at salary, 401k match, sign on bonus, annual bonus. You just have a starting number.

Find another job

It’s $5k and you said ‘and above.’ I wouldn’t be worried about $200 a paycheck before taxes.

I negotiated for 5k more than they were willing to offer- definitely doable. Arm yourself with information about the why such as the industry averages for the role (google this, super easy to see examples of how to phrase it)

Just negotiate once you get the offer. Don’t even need to give rationale. “Hi <recruiter name>, can you do $92k? If so I’ll sign the offer right away.” I’ve done a similar approach for every job I’ve worked at, and have always gotten what I’ve asked for. Gotta look out for yourself, because no one else will

Anyone from IQVIA? I just wanted to check something. I gave 2 rounds of interview and got selected. The HR asked for the documents for further process, I submitted them in the second last week of May. I still don't have any update on it. I called them thrice, Then I dropped an email to HR asking for an update, and the worst part is the HR neither replied to my email and when I tried calling yesterday, the HR deducted call. 🤷‍♂️ What should I do? They didn't release my offer letter too! 💁‍♂️

I recently went through an interview process for an investment banking role at a well respected mid market bank. I had two rounds of interviews, and the second round was with two VPs. All interviews went very well - conversation was great, and I got enthusiastic verbal feedback during and at the conclusion of each interview. It’s been three weeks and I have heard nothing, even after 2 follow ups to HR. I saw on LinkedIn they hired 2 people. I assume I got rejected - thoughts? What do I do next?

I’d like to know if I’m being stupid for being underpaid. I’m currently being paid 80k as an A2 in TAS (HCOL), however I’ve been an “acting senior” for the past 6 months. I have great flexibility and I’m treated well at my current firm. And my office is only 20mins away. If I left, I’d join as a senior and make 20k more, but I may give up flexibility, and the commute would be longer. I’m a single father with young kids, so flexibility is important to me. Career goals = partner. Any opinions?
