Like my senior would lash out at every mistake I made. I.e she would talk about my mistake in group chat and @manager to publicly shame me. Then I had some tech issue that I couldn’t link one of the documents to task so I told her about it, she was like I don’t know what your problem is but I will just do it myself. I honestly don’t think I’m dumb. Like I was really motivated when I first started and passed all my cpa exams before I start working. Usually it’s bc she didn’t give me any clear instructions and her instructions change as I go along. I think the whole experience is just very demoralizing and slowly I’m just really reluctant to engage. She would never do this to the other white guy staff tho.

That racial and talking your problem in group chat with manager is not acceptable. The rest thing I think is pretty natural though.

Def report to HR. Have bean mentally abused by a senior when I was a staff. I was really hesitating as I think I didn’t do well enough. After being a senior for 2 years and look back I regret that I didn’t look for help.

Usually if I’m wondering if I’m being too sensitive I usually am. But I agree need details

Can you elaborate an example?

Do we work with the same people? LOL

It could just be that she doesn’t realize how she phrases things comes across to others. But that wouldn’t support her group chat comments, nothing excuses that. Suggest asking to move teams. First year as an auditor, if you like it stick with it. Blame the request on wanting exposure in a different industry, or name a specific client you want on and why (for reasons other than you don’t like your senior). More than likely if the engagement you ask for needs a body, they will actually respect your initiative. People do it all the time. Probably get some push back from your manager/director above the senior if they like you, so for sure consider the potential implications if that were to happen.

I amicably split from my wife in Dec 2020. After two months alone I got desperate for human touch and made an OLD profile. I quickly met a lovely woman and we're FWBs I guess? We haven't defined things (no ex talk, not exclusive) but we had a great summer (camping, hiking, biking, dinners, etc.) and I could see it getting serious. Problem is I haven't told her I'm estranged but still legally married. My ex has health issues that need my insurance and I can not cut her off after 10yrs together

Anyone else tired of the assumption that because you’re a partner you have to think a certain way and believe certain things.
