Make comments back about how nice it must be to stroll in at 10am

likefunnysmart

Get to the office by 9:59am and leave at 6:01pm

Wow, that’s a tough situation to be in. Those kinds of micro-aggressions need to be dealt with ASAP. From my experience, they only get worse as time goes by. I once let things fester for years without really realizing how bad things were getting. I finally decided to leave after an episode where my boss screamed out in the middle of a department meeting that an intern could do my job. I quit 6-weeks later. Funny thing is that he raised my salary by 23% that year and paid out $15.5k in bonuses. Which was huge for that low paying company. Do yourself a favor speak up before it’s too late. Long term abuse like that can take a real toll on your mental health.

Start making comments about how nice it must be to sleep in every morning. 😏

Trust me yall, I've thought about making the comments about sleeping in, but I want to advance my career

I used to have similar schedule and my manager didn’t have issue with it but the head of Dept commented on it a few times. I jokingly mentioned a few times how it is nice to not have any traffic at 6 am when I was coming in. He stopped talking about me leaving early. Sometimes we need to vocalize that. Ask your manager to send you things by night as you are able to work on it in AM before they come in..

like

That's really ugly of her to do. You should report her to hR

Its clear the manager is an old bitter boomer

like

I can’t believe a manager would come in at 10am and only work 7 hours (assuming there is an hour lunch in there) I would firmly remind her of the schedule agreement made when you first started.

like

I had a boss who came in at 10-10:30 “because they were the director” and then would leave at like 4.

The comments here are very sensible, but I would probably take a more petty approach and blow up her inbox between the hours of 7 and 10. Send all emails between those hours. Schedule meetings and, when she complains, make a big deal out of how you’re already working

likefunny

I think this is petty but sending an e-mail at 7 am asking your manager to follow up this morning might do the trick. You might have to send a few over time.

Two things: First, your manager is passive aggressive and immature. If they have a problem with your schedule, it's their responsibility to ask you to change it. Second, you should have a meeting with your manager and ask for feedback. If your schedule doesn't come up, then you should ask if it is an issue. Meet it head on.

If it’s not too match trouble, I’d adjust to the same schedule as the manager. Makes things easier

Have a conversation and ask about her thoughts on your schedule. Keep in mind she is the boss. Don’t shoot yourself in the foot by being unprofessional. Always a professional and appropriate way to address your concerns.

like

Start send her meeting invites for 7am and 8am . Keep all the rejections .

“Hey, use my time here efficiently, plus, if you need, you got my cell”

like

Uhhh…I used to go in at 6am to 6pm when I started. So she is just saying what everyone else is thinking. Gotta grind in this biz if you want to succeed.

like

Yeah I see that and feel the sentiment. It's kind of a unique scenarios where there's not a lot of career growth opportunity unless I wait for someone to retire or more people to leave.

Corner her and ask her the intention with her comments and whether there’s any confusion with the agreed schedule. Sometimes you gotta show them balls. Make full eye contact with a serious face.

Thank you everyone for the comments. I appreciate the support

Bring in a coffee for her tomorrow, and drop it on her desk at 7am.

Bring in a screwdriver, take the panel of her office chair, put in some dead fish and put the panel back on😂👍
