I currently have about 4 years of experience at Chevron (2 years in R&D, 2 years as a chemicals product manager). I am looking to transition into consulting as I have realized that I am someone who gets bored of a project once it turns into a well-oiled machine. My 4 years at Chevron has made me realize that I want to leverage my engineering knowledge to solve problems, but I want to be in a client facing role. Can anyone help me with a referral to an MBB?

I interviewed for an accounting manager role today at a private equity investment firm. I interviewed with the finance manager, he told me he works 40-70 hours per week. Would you anticipate this as a red flag, meaning that hours are closer to 70 than 40?

I didn’t press too hard since this was a 1st round interview. Currently I work 40-45 hours, so his answer is a little concerning, I asked my recruiter to follow up.

Hey all - first year associate here… I’ve met my hours requirement for this year (requirement is 1900 and am currently at around 2050 with billable hours - approx. 2160 with non billable admin hours) and I am just tired. Is it okay to just “disappear” during the holidays (thanksgiving week, week of Christmas) and let partners and senior associates know I am not available? The offer from EY India is very less and my joining is on 16th. I do not think negotiation will work at this point. Synechron & Altimetrik is offering far better pay than EY India. The difference is Close to 5L. Can anybody through some light here. I have a YOE of 4Y and tech stack- Java/MS/ React. EY is offering 10.5 fixed.
