I’d really have to know how your company classifies “Analyst”. Normally when I see Analyst as a job, it’s someone who analyzes data and provides insights to stakeholders. If they add “data” in the title (Ex. Pricing Analyst vs Pricing Data Analyst) then typically that’s a more technical role, where you’ll be writing queries (typically using SQL) to pull, modify, and edit data to get it ready for analysis by the analysts. I can’t really speak to the Analyst position, as I’m a Data Analyst, but if DA is the way you wanna go, I’d pick up some SQL courses. There’s free and relatively cheap ones all over the internet.
Thank you, this is very helpful. We don't have anybody with the position of Pricing Analyst. We do have Product Operations Analysts that use SQL that provide the data for us. I believe the Pricing Managers deal more directly with the stakeholders. I don't even see a job with Data anywhere in the position title.
