How long does Offer approval take at Oracle? My Hiring Manager said the Offer is going through approval chain. Also When my HM asked me for my expectation, I gave my number. But I'm not sure if the current offer letter has the same numbers or less. Can I negotiate after the offer letter has been released? Also say I was able to negotiate successfully, will it again go through the approval cycle?

Difference between associate and analyst is very different and what's the # hard to judge without knowing your $ amount. That is the balance if you value that time now vs later then I'd stick with the better life style but those incremental differences are huge and add up early on in life. Plus FO usually leads to many great exit opportunities when you decide to do something different. Personally I'm not aware of what it looks like for MO maybe it's worth staying there
Is the FO role the same base because of the midyear transfer? That happened to me, but my base the next full year was more in line. Imo, if you've got the opportunity, go for the FO role. You can always go back to MO if you don't like it, but the FO opportunities don't generally come around (just check out the posts here from people looking to do what you get the chance to). That being said, it takes longer to get up to competitive salary coming from MO than if you just started out in FO. Good luck
Think you already know the answer. Move forward not to the sides
Look, SLC is vastly underpaid, and GS will take advantage of your "desperation." Higher ups do believe you're just going to be happy to have FO- salary increase or not. I was lucky enough to get out- let them know you have an offer with higher salary and you'd like to see if they can match. Be prepared to play hard ball
Hey OP, how close do you sit to the pantry?
Does FO come with a bonus at the end of the year? Salary isn't everything
Citi 1 I get what you're saying but I'm trying to evaluate my earning potential in front office. With the base figure I'm very confused because even if I earn a 100% bonus I'm not sure if it will mean as much given the amount of time and energy I'll need to invest. I'm all about putting in the time and exceeding expectations but I don't wanna burn myself out only to feel I'm not earning what I deserve. I feel like I'm being ripped off and just surprised at the base # for a front office role. I'm wondering if front office is as big of a deal as people make it out to be. Plus there is better job security in MO. Ugh...
Does your company know you're contemplating offers? It seems a bit weird of them to offer you a new job without change in salary. Especially if it comes with increased working requirements. I'd say try and renegotiate with your own firm and if they say no, go to the company who values you more.
$75k for FO is suspicious. Are you sure this is an actual FO role and are not being fed some Internal BS? The only people I know who make $75k are those in Credit, which is still MO, and their annual bonuses also reflect that ($20-25k less A1). FO at any reputable bank should be at least between $80-90k. Approach the position with caution.
Slc is def underpaid so you got a good point but chicago's base should resemble ny's. Which exact FO position?
Move to FO. Chicago is great and with that salary you can do some damage. Will you be working in futures?
No I'm torn! What would u do?
What is MO
Oh got it. Earning power > salary. If McDonald's was paying $15k more great, but where are you going from there?
Barclays 1 yes it does have a bonus... But I'm surprised that the base is so low. It doesn't make any sense and the MO role also has a capped bonus of 10-15% but my hours would not exceed 50 per week. Also, I'd actually have a work life balance. For front office i'd work long hours and some weekends. Is it normal for front office base to be so low though? Makes no sense to me. What can a FO associate expect to make on average (base+bonus+other)?
@Barclays 1 Yeah that makes sense. I'm being offered 75k internally for FO. That's my base right now and it's not changing. If I move to the other firm I'll be in MO at 89k base.
@Barclays 2 No they don't know that. I am going to have that conversation soon. I didn't accept anything yet and wanted to position myself for that conversation after doing some research. 75k for FO seems like a joke. Please tell me if you disagree because maybe I am misinformed!
Currency/location?
USD... I'm in MO in SLC @75k. FO opportunity is in Chicago @75k (no cost of living adjustment). MO opportunity at the other firm is @89k in Chicago.
^ credit is 85k starting at gs/jpm so this OP is prob jumping from a BO rather than an MO
