I deposited $1k into my Roth IRA about 2 weeks ago. Circumstances have changed and I’d like to take this uninvested cash back to my checking account. Is this possible without a penalty?

What would my selections be in my account? Premature with exception or Premature under 59 1/2? Also would I select waived for federal withholding?

Yes, but there may be some paperwork. Could be worth checking in with the provider.

Hi Fishes/Seniors,
This will be the first time I will be in tax slab.
I have few queries can anyone please help me regarding this.
In ELSS mutual the total we can save save tax is 1.5lakh. Do we need to invest yearly 1.5 lakh yearly to save tax? I am planning to have a Sip of 5000 monthly for 3 years. So total money invested in 3 years will be around 60000 * 3 = 180000.
Will that be sufficient to save tax or Do I need to have a sip of 12000 per month to save tax.

Question for my fellow fish, thinking about buying a new home and putting 10% down instead of 20%. Only because I want to have some extra money laying around for new home items I’ll need. Then after 3-4 months of PMI my plan is to call and drop the other 10% in a big payment to remove PMI. Is this something I can do? I also think if I do 10% down instead of 20% I can get a lower rate as a first time home buyer.

Serious advice please! Just turned 29M South Asian living in HCOL. Never moved out of parents home (was supposed to move out few years ago but alas, the pandemic). Economy is worse off now with high rent. I have two options:
1) move out and pay the high rent, not saving much in the end OR
2) stay at home & save money for a down payment (I’ve saved a ton but need a bit more). If I choose this option, I will solo travel every 2-3 months to new countries. All serious advice appreciated!

How much should I think I must be able to save to retire by 40? I am 36 yrs old with no liability but no house of my own. I have some savings. Retiring in a small south Asian country or an island country could be cheap option and then pick odd jobs if I wish to. Any suggestions on place to consider?

Any Hamilton watch connoisseurs out there? Looking to buy a Khaki Field for the BF but can't decide between Amazon, an AD in NYC, or the Hamilton site. Going gray market would be $100+ cheaper than direct but their warranty is more suspect. Tourneau, an AD in NYC, has their own 3 year warranty on top of Hamilton's 2 years but have read horror stories about how they don't follow through. Any suggestions for a novice would be great (including recs for reputable ADs in NYC). Thanks!

Anyone else ever told that you go “too above and beyond” for your customers? For example, I deal with a lot of returns and repairs and sometimes customers don’t have their order information. I offer to help them find it with just some supplemental info. Could take anywhere from an extra 5 to 25 min of digging, depending on what info they can provide. Direct manager? Doesn’t care. Her boss however, made that comment this morning when asked about my daily productivity.
