Preping for an interview for MBB. I never know how to prepare for the “tell me about a time you failed” q. Can anyone offer best way to approach this and perhaps an example?
Hey, anyone have experience with boutique turnaround advisory consulting shops? (E.g., Getzler Heinrich, Novo Advisors, among others) How does pay look versus larger RX (Alice, A&M) Versus MBB?
If it's not requested in the job announcement and it's not required to complete the form, do you have to submit your transcript when applying to MBB?
Why would anyone from the tier 2 firms (OW, ATK, S&) want to go to MBB? (Not rhetorical, I’d like to find out what the gaps are for these firms)
Do you enjoy the work at MBB? I know the hours can be long, but is the work interesting and/or enjoyable?
Attending Appalachian State University for athletic reasons as I played baseball here. Will finish my degree in Supply Chain Management in December. I want to break into consulting in the supply chain and operations sector in NYC. I would love to connect with anyone in Big 4 - Deloitte , KPMG, PwC, EY and MBB to get some insight on the college recruiting cycle coming up. Currently have a 3.81 GPA, family startup company experience, and restaurant industry experience.
Is moving from MBB to FAANG non tech roles (strategy & ops) worth it? How is the career progression?
Exhausted from the hours I am putting in in IB. Just pulled an all-nighter through Sunday night. Seriously contemplating moving to MBB. Question: How are the Associates and Consultants at MBB doing? What's your hours like? @McKinsey, @BCG, @Bain
Is it difficult to be hired in an MBB London office as an American? I’m trying to move to be closer to my boyfriend in the EU and have heard internal office transfers are a bit difficult, so should I apply directly to the office instead?
Currently interviewing for a VC Associate role (pre-MBA), a FAANG PM Role, and have 2 Series A funded startup offers for product/growth. Does it make sense to wait until I can get MBB experience?
Looking for a referral in consulting. Anyone who can refer me from Big 4's or MBB or any other tech consulting firms? Can DM you if you are willing to provide me a referral. Thank you!
On an MBB case R1 interview, interviewer asked if I had info on future communication and I just said "Just finished R1 and R2 is going to come presumably based on R1 interviews", potentially implying that I thought nailed the case. I had not. I knew I'd bombed it. 😅😂🤦♂️ I literally found a way to bomb again in the last 30 seconds.
Does anybody do a “work uniform” in the office? I’m new in an in-house role at a company that has dress for your day (primarily jeans), and I’m thinking about doing that when we go back (1-2 days a week). I need to buy new clothes post-covid anyways. I’m thinking some casual, but quality, plain black dresses that I can wear a sweater, jacket, blazer (when necessary), shirt, etc. over. Could dress up or down with shoes. Thoughts?
I'm such a baby. I say I hate hate PA. Then I chicken out if recruiters call me. I must secretly love this shit. I think I have issues...
Do I need to be rated at next level on all five points in my snapshot to be promoted to senior?
I feel as though I'm constantly playing second fiddle with my ssl. Here I thought there's finally a project for me to be apart of, only to find out the booking is a "only if the scope is bigger than expected". Is there such thing? What would you do? Any advice?
Has anyone tried having a flipped classroom? I read that it reduces the amount of homework/work students have to do outside of class.
Skype issues anybody?
How hard is it to transfer from a non-Big 4 national firm to a role in M&A tax at a Big 4?
Planning to switch companies but I'm currently in a consulting position on the bench. I'm worried if I give 2 weeks notice that I'll be let go immediately since I have nothing to transition, but I also don't want to screw over my current company by getting assigned to a project then leaving without notice. Am I just paranoid?
What is the best PC for independent contractors? I’m considering making this move but haven’t owned a non-company PC in a decade. I’m not a fan of my current work PC so I want to make sure what I buy is durable and efficient. TIA!
What perks are offered by Kirkland (London office)? What about the $1000 non-client dinner allowance?
In big 4 consulting firms (MC), what firms are used in benchmarking? Just saw that Goldman is increasing bases for entry hires ~30%, does this signal an upcoming bump?
I made many mistakes at work ( most of them involving sending e-mails unintentionally offensive to client and interna9l)... i want to ask the partners why have i not been fired at this point...?
What is Wieden+Kennedy Strategy Director salary? I looked on glassdoor but there is not enough data. Thanks.
What kind of qualifications do you look for when interviewing and selecting associates/experienced associates?
I'm a 'Consultant' who's worked as a Product Owner / Agile team lead throughout my career (3yrs) . This does involve client facing day to day activity . But I'm wondering where my career is going? Are delivery/POs really consultants? And is being a PO the right path to product manager, if I wanted to go to tech?
Alright so there’s a thing called reclaim my status. If you had a reason why you lost status in the last year or two like COVID, baby, new job, etc. You need to submit some basic documentation and they give you that status for 3 months with a DRASTICALLY lower threshold to make the status permanent and even higher tiers are much easier to obtain during those 3 months. Google “reclaim my status Delta”
Scenario: making $77k (example), ready to leave B4, found perfect job opportunity online. Salary range stated as 50k to 80k. I'm asked for my salary requirements on the application. (Cont)
First time interviewing as an experienced hire. When a recruiter asks salary expectations, do I counter and ask for a range? I don’t want to go high & get dinged but also don’t want to get shorted.
