You deserve the government you elect.

like

1) There was no US in 1776.
2) You don't deserve the government you elect; you deserve a government that preserves the dignity of the people.
3) The US is no more an oligarchy now than it ever has been in its history

This graph means nothing, basically correlates with home ownership rate. For example North Dakota is a poor state but people own houses there because you can buy a 60 acre ranch for $19.99 while everyone in NY rents

like

Correct. As if no one seen mean/median FICA scores by state.

I’d suggest you study simple economic statistics for the states. With the exception of NY, all this chart shows is the prevalence of very poor people.

like

Wow, this overlaps almost perfectly with poverty rates. Why is it surprising that poor people have trouble paying their rent / mortgage during a pandemic?

I’m have a new theory about why juniors always feel like idiots and wanted to see if anyone else thinks this makes sense. I’m a third year, and am the most junior person all of my teams (generally me, a senior or two, and a partner or two), and I always feel like I’m messing something up. Is this just because I never get to work with other juniors and don’t see the mistakes they make, and that it’s relatively normal? And FWIW I went to HYS and I’ve had a clerkship so it’s not like I’m not smart
