I dnt want to tell anybody in real life that I got offered a new job bc it’s not 100% finalized yet but I am absolutely bursting w excitement and had to share somewhere. After a full year of job hunting and facing rejection after rejection after rejection , I just landed my dream in house position! Not only is the company and role perfect for me but I’m getting an $80k salary increase. For those facing career disappointments, dont give up! Better things are coming your way!

In my last job search (which last about a year), I began making “scripts” for each job. Bios of interviewers, talking points about the company and industry, scripted responses linking my experience and goals to the role. It was a little tedious but I was determined to leave my last job. I gave a redacted version to a buddy and he adjusted for his last round of interviews and he landed an offer from the desired company. Congrats OP and good luck!

Looking to come out of "retirement" after staying home to raise my girls for the last 5 years. I've always worked in sales due to finding out it's something I am blessed at. I have a few questions, but will start with my strengths first. I've surpassed sales goals at previous positions that my superior regionals could not achieve. Very limited characters allowed, very sorry of that sounds conceded. I don't know where to apply or where I fit anymore. I don't have a degree.

I know I don’t have enough experience compared to some of the other applicants but any word of advice from fellow RNs & nurse managers on how to make myself seem like a better candidate? I want to try my hardest!

Is it normal for a start-up to be super vague and keep setting up meetings to get to know you but gives you bare minimum details about them?

I had a start-up reach out to me and after a few meetings I have barely been able to get any information about them. I don't know name, size, or anything but a vague description about what they offer (don't even know what role they would want me in). Is this normal or am I right to be annoyed?

I'm the only employee with a background in finance in a tech startup growing at a 300%+ per year. But it's actually my first finance-related experience (interned and now part-time as I'm in my senior year of undergrad) and don't know really how to have an impact as my knowledge is "limited" and have no technical mentorship.

Any advice/mentorship would be wonderful!

How Much More in % should a Person ask Of a Current Offer which he has ?

Say Company 1 has Offered 10L Already..and Company 2 is there in Process, How much More should one ask above this 10L...Like Say I got 12 or 14 in Company 2.

Offcourse there is No Higher Limit, but how to negotiate so that you are also satisfied ? I mean is there some kind of rule which says atleast you should ask this much more than current offer.

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

Currently not a resident of CA, but will be in September. Accepted an in house job based in CA (will be remote until then). CA bar website says I must be a CA resident to waive into the in house program. I called the office and was told I don’t have to be a CA resident.

Can anyone provide insight on whether I have to be a CA resident to waive into the CA bar as in house counsel? Planning to sit for one of the next 2 administrations of the bar, but would like to have this until then. TIA!
