I want to talk about how this industry can sometimes feel like it's run by robots.

Take search engine optimization, for example. It's very difficult to find a good SEO person who can actually explain how they work and why they're doing what they do. They seem to be afraid that if they explain things too clearly, they'll lose their edge over the competition!

Can folks recommend books for first time moms? I’m very early first trimester but feel totally lost and overwhelmed already. I need like very basic 101 how to take care of an infant and beyond lol. Especially ones that include items that are must haves or nice to haves so I can actually start thinking about a registry.

Been at current agency for a year, loved it and love my team. Pros: Benefits are great, as is the mentorship and work is generally quite stable. Cons: Lower paid

The new agency is smaller and benefits aren’t as good but I’ll get a +45% pay increase and title bump. Work is different to what I’m used to which is both exciting and daunting (imposter syndrome will no doubt kick in!).

Ideal situation would have been to stay in current role another year or two... help!

Why did you choose advertising? And what has made you stay? My well of motivation is running very, very dry. The cons seem to be outweighing the pros at this point.

Really struggling with working from home during this time. I’m making little errors that add up. Not sure how to cope. My mother is high risk and works at a grocery store and it’s making me anxious :(

When recruiters ask for your target comp, do you usually share a number? My approach has been to share my current comp and say that I would want a comparable offer. Is this a bad approach? Trying not to get eliminated from further interviews if I throw a crazy number out there but at the same I wouldn’t want a low ball offer.

Does anyone else get angry their company has a full gym but like 2 showers? There’s always a line to shower during the lunch rush so I have to go back to my office all sweaty.
