It has somewhat, but since my manager has also decided to micromanage now that we're are all WFH, I'm not particularly excited to keep this up indefinitely.

Not at all. Miss clients so much, miss travel and my peeps.

like

Same. I’m hoping this signals a more permanent shift in workplace culture. Especially now that we know we have the resources to do WFH more often. Going into the office seems like a huge waste of time.

Yep.

I’ve got a kid and my wife works too - we are all suffering. I worked remotely 3-4 days a week previously but without childcare it’s impossible.

like

If this lasts just another few years I can retire without ever going back to the office.

While I prefer working at the office to WFH, I’m racking up considerable savings in tolls, Metro, gas, meals, dry cleaning etc while also working out and reading more. But I’m old, my kids need to get back to school, friends, and sports.

Me too.

Do you think you are going to chat with your workplace about changing arrangements?

like

Totally agree. I’m made for work from home.

like

Nope. Productivity has severely decreased, doing the minimum and need to be in an office environment

Glad I’m not alone in this. Been wondering what’s wrong with me

like

Nope, very much looking forward to working at a desk with two monitors again. Working from my bed/couch is not ideal

Yes, same! How do we do this?

I find that single male friends of friends are generally very eager when we first met or were introduced (through events, common friends’ parties). I got invited to their hangout bunch / house parties (pre-covid), but the moment we established i have no romantic interest and only friendships, they disappeared and we become barely acquaintance. I genuinely want to keep them in my life as friends. Why is this the case?

Quick update for those who might be curious about the situation in my school and our lack of COVID precautions. I often comment on here about how my school stayed in person all year last year with almost no difference from a normal year. No mask mandate, no teachers or staff masking. 10% or less of students masking. Very few vaccinated here. Results: we have no students, staff, or family members in the hospital. Very few cases either. Two months of this now.

Moms, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. Everyone on my family is vaccinated. What are safe activities to do with these kiddos in the midst of all this covid variant environment. I’m not paranoid, just risk averse. The whole family got the TSV bug a month ago, and it was miserable. Just trying to be practical, but not a
