Took me 3.5 months to close
Maybe your application was riddled with typos.
Same lender, didn’t have to fill anything up

Closed in a little less than 2 months with Quicken. I think they usually close in about 30-45 days, so you can see a significant delay, relatively.
I'm not sure what you think is unfair about the process taking so long? There isn't some right to a better interest rate. Be happy that you have this opportunity, as frustrating as it is.
Applications are taking longer because sooo many people are applying right now. What did they tell you was the timeline when you signed the intent to proceed? I'm sure they want to get this done and get their money as much as you want to get this done and start saving.

Did they at least give you reduced closing costs? If not, perhaps a reason to go with another lender on refis.
They waived all fees and lower my interest rate, so I guess i shouldn’t complain
Same almost 4 months for me
In the same boat, I am in the process for about 2 months now ..it is taking longer than expected. I got a conditional approval, pending some documents which I sent over about a 3 weeks back, got excited that I would be closing. But have not heard anything.
Started our refinance beginning of April this year - closed end of July.
My brother in law works in refinancing and he said often it’s because the bank you are going through (probably not a problem for bigger lenders like Chase or Quicken) doesn’t have the money to purchase everyone’s mortgage at the same time (especially with huge increase), they have to go in waves so they can sell some mortgages and have the cash to continue with other refinances.
