Tech startup or big tech company? And why?
Hello fishes,
I have recently joined Accenture and have experience in working with DSP/Syniti ADM data migration tool for the past 3.5 years. Now I am thinking if I can continue working on the same tool or if I can move to SAP BODS (not yet assigned to any proj and didn't receive any training on bods yet)
Which ETL tool is better in terms of growth, pay, demand and scope? Pls pour in your suggestions. TIA

These are the same type of people that join Orangetheory and wear Lululemon. 90% of the benefit of those products is talking about being a consumer.
I was anti lululemon a year ago until I wore a pair for running and it is so comfortable. I own two pairs now and they are my goto for hiking and running.
I’ve always been overweight. I got into cycling classes on a project when we organized team classes 2x per week. When that travel project ended, I ended up moving into a building with a Peloton. It wasn’t the same experience, but it was pretty close and the convenience was key. When I moved to a townhome, I purchased a Peloton because I had gotten used to it and really enjoyed it. I have 10+ friends who own a Peloton; we work out together. And I do the strength training classes as well with a rack of weights that I purchased.
I’ve lost 30+ pounds and, for the first time in my life, feel healthy. The value I get out of the Peloton far exceeds the $2,500 in cost (which can be financed at 0%) + the monthly subscription.
Sure, could I have run in Central Park? Yeah. Would I have? I don’t know. But honestly I could care less because I finally feel like I’m on track with my health.
People buy overpriced, name brand stuff all the time - purses, cars, clothes, etc. I don’t know why you want to sh*t on people just because they did it for something that will make an obese nation a little more healthier.
I had the same opinion until I got one. I now use it everyday and sound like an annoying cult member.
Diff from regular bike-
1. Inside
2. Lower chance of injury/safety (getting hit by a car/covid exposure)
3. Programming that I call the equivalent of putting salad dressing on your salad to get you to eat your spinach
4. Community- my friends can follow what I do and we discuss
5. “My space”- gives me a healthy escape during quarantine and as a way to manage my stress
6. Year round- i can only ride my road bike during the spring and fall bc the weather during the winter and summer is too harsh
In my opinion, the big question is: road bike trainer vs stationary bike.
I was an avid road biker so a bike upgrade was likely always going to be an expense. I find this gives me more diversity and fun, but the big reason why I got it was safety.

Really do not understand all the haters around this. It’s something I like to do, something I’ve chosen to spend money for the convenience (or maybe even, gasp! Because I think it’s cool and fun).
Orange theory is also fun! Guess what? I also belonged to Equinox and enjoyed every gym I went to. Relax, people. Others have different priorities.
People pay for convenience. My favorite part of biking is the actual riding so I will stay outdoors on a $300 bike
I think people in cities love peloton because it’s hard to bike workout in the city
They actually offer a lot more than just biking. It’s basically group fitness from home. They have classes you can take live or on demand. Also, spinning classes aren’t all that they have. They have strength, running, yoga, etc. There is even an app that you can use to guide outside runs/bikes as well. Also there are monthly challenges and whatnot to keep you motivated. It’s more all-encompassing than you think
I believe if you have the monthly with the bike you have up to 5 user accounts vs the app is individual so I think the above is only true conditionally

Worth (like almost everything) is relative. The greatest wisdom comes from being able to see more than one perspective and not being stuck in your own.
I purchased all 3 of these from Concept 2 for that price point. So much free content on YouTube that a membership isn’t worth it for me. That said, my wife needs the accountability of a coach and a group setting or she won’t push herself. I assume a lot of people are like her.
I bought a Sunny bike and use the Roku Peloton channel. The bike cost me $300 and it's a very decent workout. You can't control the resistance as exactly but it's just like if you went to a gym spin class. The peloton bike is smoother bc it has a magnetic resistance and is admittedly a beautiful machine.
App is under $14 a month and I use the meditation and yoga classes frequently. Just started to do regular core and strength workouts.
I did order a $68 Cody XOXO sweatshirt last week, so I suppose that's how they get you 😆 #boocrew
I LOVE the Cody XoXo rides! Hahaha also, so happy that you are making it work with the Sunny bike! I almost went that way
I got it so my wife would get the memo
I used to have this thought and then I switched from OrangeTheory to peloton and the peloton is cheaper per use than my 8 monthly classes I paid for at OTF. It’s also more convenient and they have way more than just the bike. I’ve done weight training, outdoor/treadmill runs, yoga and the dance cardio.
And it’s “cool” to tell people you bought a peloton.
My fiancé and I bought one, and love it. It gets used almost daily by at least one of us. It was free to finance so we are paying around $65/mo, plus the price of the app (which is one fee per household). They have more than just the spinning, they have yoga/meditation, stretching, weight training, running, etc. The classes really push you and the leaderboard gets me fired up. I love to track my milestones and all of my metrics.
For context we each used to spend over $100/mo at a gym. Instead we put that money towards the peloton and a home gym (punching bag, weights, bench/squat rack, row machine, etc). I don’t think we will be back in a regular gym for a while.
Also to say it’s not worth it, my recommendation is to try one. We originally tried one at a Westin and both couldn’t believe the quality of the classes and the product. It’s very well made and feels like a premium product. I’m sure you can get something cheaper, but I’m sure I could walk through your home and criticize something you overpaid for. Maybe clothing, shoes, your car, your purse, sunglasses? All I can say is I get more value out of this bike than I do for a lot of other expensive purchases I’ve ever made. You really need to make sure you’ll use it though, I’ve seen many end up on Facebook marketplace for people who realize after a month it becomes a clothing rack.
If you pay $33 per class, and do two a week, pays itself off in 6 months
Lol A1 I️ see your point 🤣 but if someone is already willing to spend $$$ monthly on group classes, it seems like a good investment to actually own the equipment and choose your own time. It’s not a justifiable cost for me tho bc I’m not even willing to pay for the classes
I'm super happy with my Schwinn IC4 ($800) + peloton app. I love the variety that the app offers but don't like the idea of being tied in to specific hardwear, especially with such extensive tech.
That is true - you can add sensors to get the full experience but it isn't quite the same
Pretty sure the same folks who hate on Peloton (though it has no impact on them) are the same folks who hate on MBAs (though it has no impact on them). Live and let live.
They also listen to bands you’ve probably never heard of and trash pop music
Have you taken a class on one?
I live in Texas. Biking outside during the summer is pretty rough.
I miss my gym a lot, but it’s done well for me in a pinch. Very handy to just jump on and crank out an hour.
I bought a Peloton in late March, because Portland is cold and running wet is no fun. As the pandemic-induced quarantine continues, it’s really saving my sanity - none of my outdoor running routes are safe right now (too crowded, or through not great parts of town), and the extra motivation of having an instructor in front of me makes me more inclined to hop on the bike.
Before I got one, I held the strong belief that we’d see a stronger reduction in crime if we replaced jail time for nonviolent offenses with three hours of stationary biking a day. That’s to say, I fucking hated it - same with treadmills, rowing machines, and the like. The Peloton’s integrated cadence and resistance tracking with live and on-demand classes broke me of that belief - it’s actually, genuinely fun.
Yeah, it’s expensive, but it’s also helped me create the behavior changes I wanted and struggled to do for two years. So, it’s worth it to me.
Love mine!! I've had it for over a year and it has changed my life. I would gladly pay double for it. The convenience of having it at home and classes ranging from 5 mins to 90 minutes leaves little room for excuses. I also mountain bike outside but the weather isn't always good, etc. The consistency in the Peloton has made me such a better rider enabling me to climb like a beast these days! I also do the strength training, yoga, and cardio classes which I can stream in my hotel.
PM me for a referral code that saves you $100 on accessories when you buy one. And I'll send you a Peloton gift too.
I'm also up over 200% from Peloton shares so all around love this company.
Yes can I get a referral code from you ?
