There is an inverse relationship between emails marked as high importance and emails that are actually high importance
OP please start using the word "especially" (or "specifically"?) correctly. That would drive me crazy if I worked with you. Also that flag is useful for when you really need to know that something is time sensitive. Not everything is, so I'm happy when something someone needs in two hours has been marked that way. As K2 said, it's when it's some stupid policy change that is marked high importance where I roll my eyes.
I mean, does anyone really filters out “High-importance” from regular email? Please, stop using that. Specially, stop using it to lash out people. We get it, you are clearly communicating your anxiety, but that only makes people dont want to answer you...
Seriously, how do you give feedback to a supervisor about that? Anyone?
Trolls who send *High Importance* e-mails on a Sunday should be fired with no severance. Maybe that'll help them find a life purpose other than being a weekend e-mail bot.
Hahaha! 👍🏼
Agree with that. That’s my point. No automatic policy here. Is there something really “High-importance” ‘specifically’ on Sunday? If there were something, then, it shouldn’t be an email. Point?
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the annoyance trifecta: marked as high importance, "action required" in subject line, and flag pre-set for follow up. Ugh.
I set rules for these people. I agree with OP - if something is this urgent, pick up the phone.
Amen
What about inconsequential emails with "Action Required" from your crazy team mates
