Happy layoff hunger games
I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

It means that some states will be able to ban abortions like they’ve been planning
Some will ban at 8 weeks
Some will ban at conception
Some will ban even in cases when the women was raped
Whether the percentage of women directly impacted on the worse scenario (keeping a kid from rape) is 1 or 50% it would still be a lot of people whose life and choice matters (and do take into consideration that most women don’t ever get reported)
Other scenarios such as at conception would still have a huge impact to a lot of people’s lives
The whole point is that the “constitutional” protection was not actually constitutional, in the courts opinion. While the media (left and right) has made it about pro choice vs pro life, the ruling was about the constitution and the scope of the FEDERAL government.

Do we really want to bet people’s lives and well being on interpretation?
Courts overturned a constitutional protection for abortion rights, allowing states to outlaw abortion procedures and criminalize it. This leaves women in said states with no access, but demand doesn’t disappear. Women will die seeking the treatment, likely.
D1 - 1973 SCOTUS Roe v Wade extended this definition to provide a constitutional protection. 2022 SCOTUS struck that down as we all know which sets the precedent for bipartisanship infiltrating a intended non-partisan branch and challenging key party issues. Hold the same tone when eventually Gun ownership is considered no longer a constitutional right
The court gave back the issue to the people of each state and their elected leaders to decide.
Wrong. Read the opinion. It’s much more than that. From the dissetn: “Most threatening of all, no language in today’s decision stops the Federal Government from prohibiting abortions nationwide.” The opinion does NOT say anything about the states being able to decide.

Im not going to give my perspective about today, but I f the country wanted to green light all (or most) abortions, we could pass a Constitutional Amendment. I don’t know why the angry people from today just don’t focus their energy here?
Because they know they don’t have the political power to do that, so all they can do is be angry and demean people that don’t politically agree with them. It’s all about civility, equality, and acceptance for democrats until they talk to a republican….

Trump appointed 3 Christian fundamentalists to the Supreme Court. They removed federal protection of women’s healthcare rights today. Next they are looking to overturn gay marriage and birth control
If only there was some way to stop them…something about checks and balances and voting…ugh. If only there was some governing document that we could refer to! Help us Obama! You’re a scholar of something or another…
