I don’t have a new job, big time raise or better project

Great job OP! I know exactly how you feel! I’m down 70 and counting!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Keep kicking butt! Great job!!! I’m so happy for you!!!

Losing 20lbs is amazing, you should feel on top of the world! That’s a huge accomplishment

Excellent work, continue prioritizing your health forever!

Yet I’m so jealous of your update! I’d love to be in the same position to say that. Congrats! And yes please share some tips that don’t involve me giving up wine, French fries or chocolate

VP1, not unpopular. I do that but I also exercise and follow a more strict diet. That being said, if I want to eat a burger and fries, chocolate, or drinks I do it within my limits.

Congrats! Mind sharing tips?

I was never a big fan of alcohol , so I guess that was one less thing to worry about. Milkshake was/is my poison. Now I take that as a reward! In fact, one of the driving factors for me was to enjoy food without feeling guilty about it. And regular exercise , consistent diet is the tax I pay to truly enjoy food with occasional “bad” food as the reward.

Also, I just wanted to feel good…wasn’t trying to lose specific weight by specific time. And you will feel good sooner , even before losing significant weight. Apple Watch helped me with that, as month by month I could see my activities going up. Actually I got to know my weight through a routine physical recently!

That’s great! Tips / tricks always welcome!

_No drive-thurs or limit sugar (pick one)
_intermittent fasting
_preemptive snacking
_eat nothing but healthy food for a few days in a row each week (try ordering from service like sakara life or similar to make easier)
_choose the right booze (or limit if you have to have hazy ipa or something)
_15min if calisthenics every morning before shower, without exception
_no cardio (this one prob isn’t for everyone but my appetite is off the charts after cardio)

Above got me from high 160’s to 138 as of this morning over roughly 3y period (M36). I didn’t start all at once this is just what I found I could stick to over time. Regardless of tactics the key is to make a habit out of it and never stop.

This is amazing! Congratulations

This is huge feat!! Congratulations! Seriously it’s hard to lose a couple lbs, let alone 20. Good for you!

Huge deal. Congrats OP :)

That’s awesome!!!!!

You’re winning, that’s awesome

True success !!!

This is a huge accomplishment!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

That's amazing!!! My biggest accomplishment this year is not work related, but hitting fitness goals!!

Trying to think ahead. What is the best holiday gift you’ve gotten or could get from your manager? I’m looking for ideas other than alcohol, pay raise/bonus, extra time off. I’ve got those covered. Looking for actual ideas that would make my staff happy/special. Thanks in advance!

Hi fish. I’m a first year analyst who’s only been on big team projects. And when I say big, I mean like 30+ firm practitioners.

I’m starting on a project where I’m the only resource along with a senior manager. Any advice on how to succeed in this environment? I’m really nervous. TIA.

I’m up for a promotion to manager 7/1, but looking to get out immediately after. What salary should I expect? Is it reasonable to target $125k-$150k? Is it worth it to stay until 7/1 if I get an offer now in this range and it has the title of manager?

Anyone have attorneys working for their startup in non attorney roles. If so what positions should I be looking at. Not enjoying the practice of law but also have no experience with startups. Would I need to learn to code to get a job in say project management?

I want to send my boss a hand written thank you note, but my firm is 100% remote. I happen to have her address from a past project. Should I sent it or is that too weird?

Could use some help with an awkward dynamic.

My Dept has been tapped to help another dept promote a DEI study. The client dept has hired a consultant in this area. The challenges I see with this consultant's work style:

-dominating conversations
-micromanaging things outside her area
-steering things toward her own promotion over our company's agenda
-people in my dept (mostly white) are visibly uncomfortable and reluctant to interrupt or contradict her (black woman)

Hi all I have cleared my PDM on 26 Feb in IBM. also submitted my BGV and questionnaire related to project in IBM. Please some tell me by when I can expect my offer letter from IBM?

My partner is great and supporting … but he’s completely unpredictable

He will tell clients we can deliver in ridiculous time frames that are much much sooner than the client will need and it’s always a tonne of work. But the thing that’s getting me is that we have a massive cross-border matter for a client with a tonne at stake. We know how much it will cost cos we’ve just done something similar and instead he offered it to them for 50k a month. We have 10k left and we’re a week into the month

How do I know if I will enjoy doing consulting coming straight out of college? I have a lot of mixed feelings about it currently from everything I have read and heard online. Getting staffed on a project that I don't know how to do sounds like a nightmare. My understanding is that new hires are less likely to be fired in their first year as they get time to figure things out?

Putting out feelers: Does anyone have a reco for a GREAT strategist? This need would be for general healthcare (not pharma) and previous experience with med-tech devices would be ideal. (Can be someone who is freelance or already full time; the project would be ongoing and happen in mini-spurts every few months). Thank you in advance.

Writers, do you have your work on a password-protected site or just use a PDF? Someone at my agency just got fired because he had client work posted on his site for anyone to see (cont.)

Got my promotion this year but it was one year late because changed groups. Was promised the promotion last year on time but was told the window had passed so had to wait. Found out (TBC)

Is there a way to rent a car and use it for 2 different client visits and expense a single day to each one? Any experience with Avis or Hertz generating 2 receipts/invoices for the same rental?

Weirdest place you’ve ever napped while on a project? Very tempted to duck into a client conference room and put my head down for like 30 min

I work for a really difficult client in a horribly managed project... client and I have same aged kids I’m in early 30s and he’s in his 50s. I too off two days, and let him know why... internal cont

So I’m the only female, aside from a rarely-present senior manager, in an audit room for a 9/30 busy season client. Over the past two weeks I’ve heard no less than five sexist comments,

Any anyone from Booz Allen, Oliver Wyman, and Ali’s partners reach out. Need a contact in the Chicagoland area for a current client RFP…
