Hello all,
I am working as Software developer from 4 years now.I started to work in IT as I got my placements. But I am more inclined to management roles than technical roles.I am good at my technical skills but not great. After some research I think I would like to take Business Analyst role or Project Management roles. I am confused if I need to take online certifications and courses.
If anyone here have similar journey in your career, I'd like to hear your advice. Please suggest.

So I felt my acting manager, my actual manager is on mat leave, was a bit aggressive in her response to me and I mentioned it to her. Now she is like micromanaging like hell. How do I handle this? She comes of passive aggressive but I just ignore because she is not my manager it’s temporary. I couldn’t let this slide without letting her know I felt her response was aggressive

I have only worked from home with my current company, so no watercooler talk unlike previous companies. Do people find they hear less than they used to about the inner workings of their companies because there's no extemporaneous chit chat around the office?

What would you do?

Your teammate with the same title and pay as you is at your desk all the time for help. I'm definitely open to helping - but sometimes "help" is basically the whole job - it feels like I'm doing both jobs lol and it almost feels unfair that we both get paid the same or very close (Colorado, so pay transparency). The teammate has been with the company for longer than me.

I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.
