Honestly, I think we all feel underpaid. Because the higher you are paid, the more that is expected of you. And the more that is expected the easier it is to get burnt out. What makes a difference for me is not only the pay but the culture and the benefits!

I was happy with my salary my first year in banking when I made $75k base and $30k bonus. My total comp has more than doubled since then and my hours have gotten cushier and yet I am somehow less satisfied with my comp lol
At a long only fund as an analyst (1.5yrs post MBA) and can say this year is the first year I’ve actually felt satisfied…knowing what’s ahead totally incentivizes me to keep going/working hard
