I don't know what to think of this. To summarize, he argues that covid could have come from the wet market or from the lab, but neither theory has been properly investigated or proven. Further, he argues that most of the doctors cited early on who said that it must have come from the wet market were actually tied to the gain of function research in the lab so they had a vested interest in diverting attention from the lab. Is it time to take the red pill?

So I don’t know enough to comment, but isn’t he the guy who wrote the really awful racial theory evolution book? On that basis I’m perhaps a bit suspicious.
The government has 4 theories and has rated them in terms of likelihood. Wet market was downgraded quickly but nothing has been ruled out 100%. Probably never will be. At this point, early detection is more relevant than understanding exactly where this virus came from. As long as it’s one of those 4 theories, we need to work on all 4, bc any could be an option in the future.

If it's proven to come from a lab, then what?
1) No, it wouldn't. The news reported plenty about the origin. Nearly all said it could have come from a lab, but experts did not think so. This is factual. Experts did not think so. It hurts your reputation to claim that's not what was being said by news (not opinion.)
2) how do you plan to get restitution? Seriously, how? A war? Do you want a war with China? If it came out that china accidentally leaked this, and they said they didn't care, now what? They called our bluff, do we invade?
3) do you doubt the US has similar labs? Do you think they should be shut down? Do you trust China and Russia to end their research? If not, do you plan to be behind them and unable to compete, or do you plan a war to force them to comply?
It is the same guy, but you should read the context surrounding the book. He’s been a sconce writer for the New York Times for 30 years (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Wade).
To be honest, I don’t know what to think either. At least Wade goes on to say that neither theory has enough evidence to be proven.
