Left us hanging just like your tooth
Hahaha this made me LOL. It went ok, but I was/am pretty bummed that things went from a slightly tender area in my gum to abscess and dead tooth (although, I never felt pain, so I don’t know—maybe my dentist swindled me after reading through comments). I will probably need an implant in a few years since he said there was bone loss ☹️.
Nothing traumatic happened during root canal tho, just shocked Bc I’m nearing 40 and never had major issues with my teeth ever before. I did notice the slight tenderness in my gum but nothing bled or hurt to where I imagined the nerve was dead/dying.
Cont…it was identified that I have pretty significant bone loss. I now have a root canal and crown but a dead tooth, and no amount of human made replacements will act the same as what God gave. So now, I will get by with a dead capped tooth until inevitably it needs to be removed and I need an implant.
I deeply regret not taking care of myself sooner. But, if my health can go to shit so quickly, i have to believe that with some focus and TLC (and life changes) that I can turn it around for the better soon too.

Sorry OP. I have a dental implant and it works really well for me.
I strongly recommend getting a second opinion. Dentists view root canals as easy cash. Get your X-rays and have someone else review them. This I particularly prevalent in the northeast.

Ah I’m sorry, D2! Deep cleanings are a way for dentists to ensure they get lots of $$$ out of you because you now have to get perio maintenance done instead of just a regular cleaning. There’s not much difference between the two, but they can charge your insurance more for perio maintenance.
I recently went for a routine cleaning and my dentist discovered my blood pressure was near hypertension. Made an appt with my Dr, got the medicine I needed, and am doing better. The rx also stopped my bad migraines and nausea, which I believe was because my blood pressure was high at times.
Take care of your health, folks.
Well, what happened during the root canal?
Good advice. It’s easy to put health on the back burner while things silently get worse. Get your checkups people.
A while back a news station had someone with some minor dental issues go to ~30 different dentists for treatment recommendations. Recs ranged from nothing to many cavities and major bridge work. In total, the 30 dentists found something like 50 cavities spread over 10 different teeth.
So you can’t assume that your dentist has better ethics than the local shady car repair shop.

Wow that’s disheartening but unsurprising.
Not sure if there's correlation, but no amount of overwork should result in you skipping brushing your teeth
No but the stress and resulting depression or anxiety can affect how well you’re able to care for yourself.

Please get a second opinion. Highly skeptical of dentists over prescribing invasive treatments and of root canals specifically.

Dentists and used car dealers…
One time a dentist drilled too deep for a regular filling and I had to get a root canal…. I swear they did it just to bill insurance
I have heard of this. So even when I go for cleaning i tell them to take caution and not clean too strongly that my filling comes out
A root canal with EY insurance ran me $1500/tooth.
Stop drinking Coke and smoking meth.
Lol, k thanks. Very helpful.
