Gurlll, this is a post like every quarter on here. Do you want people to think you have good taste? If yes, it’s inevitable someone will copy. Take it as a compliment, every time!
I feel like this exact post, like word for word, was posted a little while ago
You don’t own “buying things,” how can you say that when you’ve bought something other people can’t buy the same? Sorry if I’m misunderstanding but I don’t see what you’re upset about here
If other people didn’t buy it as well, there wouldn’t be a market and you wouldn’t have the product either. Start an Insta to be an influencer and maybe you can get partners to give you things 😜

Just remember imitation is the highest form of flattery!! (And they’re likely not doing it with any ill-intent)
Just don't tell them about it before you buy it. And if they ask where you got it, just be vague. Surely this isn't happening all the time with all your friends or coworkers.
This doesn't happen to me, but I could see getting annoyed if everytime I went on vacation, a friend went on the same exact trip. I'm happy to share recommendations, but I like to have unique experiences.

Huh? You bought something, you didn’t create it. It’s not like they’re stealing your work or appropriating your culture.

Own it and be flattered that people are copying you. It doesn’t matter what you wear/ own, it matters how you carry it and style it

You really have to pick and choose your battles here. Someone copying the things you buy is much less of a worry than someone trying to steal it from you.

I wouldn’t mind it - it says more about them than you. “Gatekeeping” is also a bad look, because it’s not like what you’re buying is truly unique anyway and what’s the point of hiding it when it’s not a big deal. Why not tell people? When folks compliment me on something, I share the info with them happily and proactively.
...girl you should monetize this and become an influencer if this keeps happening to you — cash money and free things
It’s great big wide world and (1) people could be buying things perhaps even without looking at what you bought because people know a good thing when they see it with you or without you (2) you are not the arbiter of what people can buy and cannot buy however much you don’t like it, and (3) maybe you too are copying someone else’s preferences and buys.
We are all over informed and bombarded with too many images, messages and influencers to know which of those to attribute our buying to.
Above all, how does it matter? does it even matter?

Stop telling “those” people where you get things. Keep mouth shut! 🤐. And be flattered every time someone copies you! When they ask, make vague statement like “oh, I can’t remember where I got this” and let it go!
