I am 35, currently a manager, on track to get promoted to senior manager next year. I work on post merger integration/ separation. I want to break into PE (investment team). I am currently learning the basics. How should I break in? Any advice, what role should I target
I hope every day that the assholes that fired me for bullshit reasons (other than my salary was too high and they were awful managers and worse people) would perish in flames.

I have a dilemma: If you had 2.5 years as a recruiter, mixture of agency and corporate, what which opportunity would you choose? Option 1: RPO for a major corporate chain. (Light labor, service industry) Title is senior recruiter -65k a year but is onsite 4 days a week Option 2: inhouse with a growing software educational company in tech. 70k a year as a talent acquisition specialist. Perm remote Option 3: 5 month temp opportunity with the municipal government - remote at 82-90k
I will be recruiting for MBB next fall during my MBA program. I am looking for more info on what projects are really like, culture at your firms, why you choose it, and how it stands out. Thanks!
Anyone have success selling airline or hotel points? Obviously risky, but I have about $20K in points (which are a depreciating asset) and student loans
LEK🐠, how different is our casework (pack creation / iteration, model approaches, expert interview formats) compared to MBB? If it’s fairly similar, I’d turn down the MBB offer I have to pivot into tech. If MBB gives a new consulting experience, I’d accept. Generalist path. TIA🙌🏼 L.E.K. Do I stand a chance in consulting? Background: bachelors (GPA 3.5) and masters (GPA 3.8) in accounting, 1.5 years of experience in tax at PwC as associate. Currently on H1B visa. I don’t have any consulting experience, maybe just a few cases at school. I don’t consider myself aggressive, I’m more of a laid-back person. Im hard working and don’t mind working high hours. The reason I want to make the switch is 1) I think consulting work is generally more interesting; 2) more exit opportunitie

Thoughts on leaving before finding a new job? Feel like I don’t have the time to really search for something new. I have about month and a half of PTO payout at 24 years old and have a decent amount saved up.
Today is my first day back at work (and first full day back in my physical office) after a few weeks off for parental leave. Needless to say, I am struggling to stay focused on anything other than wanting to go back home to my spouse and child. I know I shouldn't take an emotional temperature on day one, but it has been more difficult being back than I anticipated. Any tips for navigating the waters for the first day/week/month back?
Do MBB hire people who are on H4 EAD. Not specifically for consulting but for any roles.
$20k in credit card debt due to emergency medical bills this year. I work for a mid-sized firm, and our insurance refused to cover some testing that the doctors said was vital. I’ve appealed twice.
Visa question: wife on H4EAD for past 2 yrs, was on H1b before that and has approved I140 since 2014, employer ready to sponsor h1. Does the employer need to file i140 again for H1b or can use previous i140 for the change of status from h4 to H1b?
