I disagree. There’s value in having people on site, ie client relationship (incl. having side conversations over dinner on topics that end up being relevant for project), productivity of consultants working in the same room, etc...
Consulting firms will go back at Monday-Thursday in-person work, including flying around 20-somethings

like

I agree not every week is required. Clients might be more flexible in not having consultants on site every week (probably because they’ll start working from home more often)

like

Who got off on the hotels and the points, you'll probably look back at pre-corona as the golden age of consulting. Feels like there will be a lasting shift towards remote work

like

Yea, SC1, the M-TH model will definitely still exist, i just don't think it will be as relevant or widely adopted. Sure, consultants will want to travel, but many clients will expect teams to be able to operate and deliver remotely as the status quo

like

OP, may be you can explain this a lot better...unless there is a “reading between the lines” here I’m not picking up. Normal is a relative term; we cannot deny that everything from supply chain to automation, cloud computing, etc that has grown during this crisis will have zero effect on the way things are done going forward; at least for now.

You cannot say that businesses that have suffered revenue losses, layoffs, etc would just prioritize consultant M-Th model as if this never happened ?

I believe travel will be limited on a “as-is” needed basis. Do you really need to travel every single week to your clients? Probably not. Can you deliver this part of the project effectively remotely? Probably yes. Therefore, I foresee travel happening only during critical phases of the project. Sorry, but you will have to start paying for your own upgrades and hotel stays for leisure travel post COVID-19.

like

Partially agreed as travel will be restricted to limited based on project phases needs and manage client relationships based on their availability.

When the percentage T&E comprises of the project cost gets low enough, clients will always want to keep an eye on bodies.

I don't think so because clients really do want consultants to be working alongside them than being remote. I have seen clients say it time and time again

We’re all working on projects that started or were sold pre-Coronavirus.

So it might be true that the new norm will be less travel once a project is running smoothly.

Are people responding to the behavioral economics component and saying “well Biden didn’t invite Tesla because the head of the United auto workers union didn’t want him there, that’s a bad sign”.

I’m curious how much other people with similar incomes save/invest a year; I’m a 24M, making 70K a year in a HCOL city. I saved about $12K in my first year of working out of college, and I feel like that’s pretty good but I could’ve done better. My rent isn’t too pricey, but I went on 3 vacations, go out to the bars frequently, and spend pretty freely on food. Anyone care to share their income and corresponding savings for FIRE?

How to handle working with someone who frustrates you immensely? I work with someone who is one level above me hierarchically and is an ultimate micromanager (not one agenda or recap can be without edits) and is rude about establishing that they have dominance. The more senior leaders on the team are awesome and so is the client. It’s this one coworker who just got promoted and is now stepping on me constantly. Thanks!

Any advice/tips on how to better position myself to get in?

TELUS culture is one of the strongest aspects of Telus.

Telus is one of the most friendly and encouraging companies to work for. Telus doesn't layoff unless it has too (Telus will place you elsewhere instead). Telus is one of those workplaces that people stay for decades and refer their families and friends. You will not be disappointed at Telus if positive work environment is important to you.

I’m going to be vulnerable for a moment so please be nice. Something I really need to work on is grudges. I could hold a grudge forever if needed. What people do with their bodies is obviously their right but I personally believe we need a middle ground to truly settle the abortion topic pragmatically as a nation.

Exceptional cases aside (rape, medical emergency, etc), I believe abortions should be allowed up until ~14 weeks. Exceptional cases need to be allowed in an instant regardless of X weeks in.

A fetus is at its complete mercy of the person carrying it. We should deal with this with more a combination of compassion and sense.
