I don’t think I can handle customer support any longer but I don’t know where to go from here. What are good career options for people with customer support skills?

Can you describe your current job? What other knowledge or skills do you have?

Where did you work previously? What were your roles? What are you interested in?

You should have a few transferable skills from your time in customer service. Talking to clients, building rapport, and thriving in fast-paced environments are all relevant skills for sales jobs, so that's one option

Could be an insurance agent or something similar

Some managerial positions are probably within reach for you depending on how long you worked there and what kind of skills you developed

Here's an article you might find helpful, it has some extra info too https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/transferable-customer-service-skills

I used to work in a warehouse and the manager worked in customer service before getting the job. She said the skills were the same; problem solving, organization, similar software. The only thing missing was people yelling at her.

After law school, I worked at a “boutique” law firm (i.e., a small law firm that paid like crap and worked you big law hours) and then moved in-house. I have realized that I now work the same hours as my big law friends, have much less job satisfaction than they do (yes, that is possible), and make less money than they do. Now, I have the opportunity to go big law in an area I currently practice in. I’m considering taking the opportunity. What should I be thinking about?

I've applied and networked for my dream job and didn't get an interview this time. Also dissatisfied with compensation and some of the responsibilities at my current job but have a lot of opportunity to learn. So the question is do I stay where I'm not thrilled to be now because it's good experience to set me up for the dream job next time there's an opening, or do I leave now to an option that's better pay and more interesting but farther off the path towards my long term goal?

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

Thank you all!

I’ve heard that recruiters prefer one page resumes over two page, but how do you fit everything on one page if you have over 10 years experience and worked at more than a handful of companies? Is it a red flag to not use your current employer as a reference or would this not be noticed? I have other references I want to use who I think can better attest to my skills for the job but don’t want it to raise any questions.
