You need to look to market? Those kind of outrageous pays you see in industry are mainly for the US, usually VP’s make mid 200 figures in Canada as base…
A lot of gaslighting attempts in Toronto these days OP. The market is favoring consulting talent, and many consulting firms are unable to keep up/compete. Don't concede. Good luck
$240k would be very close to the high end for Director at pwc - it tops at around $255k, and at Deloitte it tops around $290 k
Dude that’s way too high. Who do you think you are? Lol
Are you at a consulting firm or in the industry? Sorry not sure from your post.

Not many big 4 directors are making $240k base in Toronto. Maybe Managing Director.
What level of roles are they reaching out you for?
Director or SM roles (for firms that don’t have director levels). That’s what I don’t understand if they can see I’m already at the Director level, why are they so surprised I’d want $240k base to change firms?
which firm MC1?
To clarify, I’m being contacted by other Big 4 firms, and Accenture.
There’s an enormous pay gap between Canada and the US, which will invariably close over the next 5-10 years. Canadian firms are going to pay more or get ready for a brain drain to US, Australia and others.
Because:
- Most firms are Canadian firms and will have to butt heads with their US counterparts
- US clients want consultants who understand the US market (Canada multinationals do too)
- Canadian market is smaller so less specialized resources
- Public sector clients have restrictions on residency and data storage
