I don't understand how the professionals who are being hired at 30+ LPA packages are unable to calculate in-hand salary by themselves 🤔

Because not all tech people are auditors nor do they understand taxation completely. That's the whole point why we have audit and tax a separate field of study in the first place. Because it is so complex.!

I understand about basic tax calculations and deductions but that's not the whole story.

Person who is getting 20+ must have already mastered the "Art of delegation", in which you don't do anything by yourself, you just delegate to someone who is less paid & enthusiast. The same is happening here. 🤣😁

After you cross around 20 lpa, in hand salary calculation is very easy : for every 1 lakh increase in your salary after 20 lakhs, you will get 5k extra in hand per month. That’s all

likefunnysmart

That is true

That’s just weird flex.
No one is getting 30LPA on day one. So I’m assuming they have atleast 4YoE, in those 4 years, one must have learnt atleast enough from their salary structures and payslips previously even if they are not auditors.

The moment I got 33 lakhs I calculated my inhand within next 33 seconds.

I thought I was too quick or too money minded 😛

Real issue will be tax calculations

Your total package multiple by 0.062 is approx in-hand salary

Awesome... It's so accuracy.

It's just show off. Plain and simple.

Here's a barter idea:
Give me some freelance work to help me earn 30 LPA in the next 1 year, and in return I'll calculate your in-hand salary for every job for the next 10 years.
Deal? 🤔

It's because they are managers and are used to make others work for them😂😂

There are many companies that manipulate in hand salary through different kinds of deductions. I had many new joiners in my earlier organizations complain that their in hand salary is either same or sometimes lower because of a shitty pay structure. So I don't think it is really wrong or stupid to ask for in-hand salary.

Show off, or want to make people jealous and feel proud at the same time.

You don't need to. People have doubts they are asking for help. As simple as that.

I don't mean any offense or have any doubt about the motives of their questions. What worries me is whether or not have they learnt to estimate few things outside their KRAs from their past experience.

The thing is they are good in word games and not with the Maths 🤣🤣

On point 🤣😅

Do you think this is the case globally, irrespective of industry?

I’m an aspiring art director and working on my portfolio for junior gigs/ internships. For each project in my portfolio I create 2/3 executions over platforms for instance TVC/Social/ print. There’s one project I created recently for a comp I didn’t win, but thought it would be good to include anyway. However, it’s only a poster design for the brief ( I created 3 poster variations). Should I include this in my portfolio as a single project or create an area more for short briefs/graphic design?

Hello all I have two questions. I’m looking at an offer from Bank of America through a contracting company (Tek Systems). Even without the benefits / sign on bonus / whatever else, it’s about a 20% pay bump from about $120k to $150k per year. The recruiter told me they usually convert contractors at about 4-6 months. Any thoughts on BofA conversions? Second question - it’s in a cybersecurity (I’m currently in aerospace). Has anyone else made that move?
