Is there anything stopping someone from opening and maxing multiple 529 accounts per year to maximize tax deductions? In VA the limit is 4K per account but accounts are transferable within immediate family so theoretically one could open accounts for multiple recipients and merge them to one later, right?

I was just promoted to senior. I would like to leave public after obtaining my CPA/having a busy season as a senior under my belt. PA wrecks havoc on my anxiety and I don’t know how long I can realistically last in this position. This might be horrible to say but I would honestly love a job with structured hours (ie just the basic 9-5, maybe some overtime here and there but not the norm/expected) and the work is also very boring/similar day to day. Can anyone recommend positions that fit this?

I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.

This is absurd. Am I missing some “new way” of doing things? Your take?

Started a new position & noticed the team is struggling with a work/life balance & morale. While they are great people, it seems we do not work in a collaborative state which makes everything extremely unorganized. The team is absolutely swamped with back to back meetings, causing a lot of tension between one another. I had an interview where the interviewer was acting extremely weird-almost as if she was trying to deter me from wanting the position. I shared about it in another bowl and many people suggested reaching out to the recruiter. After a lot of anxiety and overthinking, I reached out. I reiterated my interest and specifically said the interview was bad in my opinion. What are your thoughts?? Will I just be ghosted?

I’m being offered a role as systems engineer (feels more like a sales engineer) in the energy industry.
Frequent travels required through Europe 6 months out of the year. Responsible for tech consultation with customers on pre-sales, system integration post-sale + training customers on product /fixing problems on their site.

The interviewer said to me to add 30% on my current salary and ask for that. Now I’m asking for £97k. Reasonable?

Ok, so I got this research request: find case law for the principal that matters settled by the parties (not by a binding settlement agreement) cannot be litigated in subsequent litigation. Basically, the plaintiff told the defendant “we have resolved this issue.” This is not res judicata but maybe some type of estoppel. But honestly, I have never heard of this principal within this context, and I am not finding FL or federal case law to support. Anyone have thoughts?
