If they really want to retain you, it wouldn't take one month to plan for your retention. They will use the same onsite opportunity gimmick. If they need one month, simply implies that they are looking for your replacement.. In my project 5 folks have resigned (critical resources) and none of them have been offered retention.. Capgemini would rehire you after a year but not retain you..

Currently there is high rate of attrition in Capgemini and managers and HR have pressure to retain the candidates. You have higher chances if they have discussed with you. I would suggest give interviews outside and take offer because they will ask offer letter if you want to negotiate with them.
I got the same call but at last my case for retention got rejected in capgemini
