Reach out to the mid level and senior associates in your group as they are usually more plugged in to staffing and can have their pick of who they staff when their go-to partner staffs them on deals. Usually they will want to work with someone who is enthusiastic and looking for more substantive work/willing to actually learn. If you do a good job for a few, the word will spread to others.

Agreed reach out to senior associates. It depends on your practice, but in my group for instance (technology transactions) most of the partners would work with a senior associate for the more complicated projects. In that case I work directly with the senior associate (and usually don’t even know who the partner is bc I don’t interact with them at all).
