Almonds are not tree nuts. Delta did nothing wrong.
These people full of exceptions should pay more for that special handling.
Welcome to America!
That’s so over the top...
I agree. She’s threatening to take the family off the flight. Sigh. If you have all these allergies you can’t just say peanuts and then expect a ban on all things nuts related.
P1 Almonds are definitely tree nuts...
Delta is doing a three row rule of no nuts at all for the three rows around her. I do love Delta and I understand when people have issues, but it for sure should have been extremely detailed before the flight. Not during boarding.
As someone who has an allergy themselves this is ridiculous. Nothing stops other passengers from bringing their own and noshing away next to the person with the allergy. Would she not go to a restaurant if they had peanuts there, would she not go to a supermarket because peanuts there? While delta didn’t accommodate those 3 passengers on a 180 person jet I’m sure the other 178 didn’t care at all
If I was Delta, I'd take her up on her offer to take her off the flight. That said, as a parent and as a person who has seen someone go into anaphylaxis, I appreciate her concern.
D3- I have a 4 year old who goes to a daycare which is a "tree nuts free" facility. They for sure allow almonds, approved by their consulting specialists.
If you are that allergic to peanut dust im not sure any airline can fully accomodate you. Nothing keeps someone from bringing their own nuts
She’s now having the flight attendant have to confirm policy and she’s stating, “you promised a peanut free flight. They have a treenut allergy so that means all nuts can’t be served”.
Way too early on a Monday to have to deal with that kind of bullshit
“Tree nuts include walnut, almond, hazelnut, cashew, pistachio and Brazil nuts. These are not the same as peanuts, which are legumes, or seeds, such as sunflower or sesame.” Source: https://www.foodallergy.org/common-allergens/tree-nut
P1 Idk why your kid’s daycare allows them, but they’re definitely a tree nut.
