Why don’t you feel like you have a choice? You sound angry at everyone but I’m having a hard time understanding your perspective and why you can’t have these things at some point in your life?
Feel ya OP. Having similar thoughts and just don’t know what to do and how to solve for this. Dating sucks and hard to find the right guy, work is all i got to keep me going in this country. Why is love and having your own family such a diff thing to get and aspire for :(
Same here OP 🙋🏻♀️ majority of the time I am thrilled about my life however the awkward pause in conversation at work events when I say no I don’t have a partner or kids is sometimes a challenge.
A colleague who is single arrived late for friend’s social event and used the parent excuse of kids babysitter was late. No one evened blinked an eye, according to her as everyone is so used to that as a generic excuse. A few hours later, one person came up and said wait you don’t have kids. I think this demonstrates what OP is experiencing. I am also too old to have kids. No regrets as I did s short miserable stint as a step mom, which ruined my experience and desire to have kids,
D2 not everyone finds it, despite best efforts. Also age to some extent means you may not be able to have kids (depending on beliefs, personal preference and options etc)
...some of us are going to be stuck supporting ourselves well into retirement and going it alone. I’m not sure if my boss would ever treat me differently if I were pregnant because I’m not even part of the conversation. I’m not sure what it is to go to a holiday party or spend my holidays with family because I don’t have one. I know I’m not alone in this. It’s one thing to choose to work vs being a stay at home anything, and it’s quite another to know you’ll never have a choice.
I guess the grass is always greener, but enjoy your options while you have them. Some of us just die on the vine working.
