I feel like being a consultant has made my standards for finding a significant other go up astronomically lol now I expect them to be a similar standard as my coworkers which are smart, pretty, social and also same level of religiousness as me. I understand why everyone struggles to find an SO now

My son wants to study the same as me, he is only 12 years old, but he has an immense love for biology. In spite of how flattered I feel I can't stop thinking how difficult it is to find a stable job in this profession, is it time to talk about it, or do I wait for a little longer?

Anyone really struggling with work/home bleed and the tax it has placed on a relationship? We have #20yr coming up this year, and we have never been further apart. Both deep in depression. Both getting help. Spouse does not work and is blaming me for a lot. Some meritorious. Would appreciate tips or perspective or commiseration.

How do you all take care of things outside of work? The last thing I want to do after being hyper-organized at work is figuring out my budget or retirement plan or scrubbing the bathtub or figuring out what to buy at the grocery or planning a vacation. I feel so burnt out I can only just sleep on weekends and can’t bring myself to go out or even do basic self care. I feel bad putting this all on my husband and how would I even have the energy to raise kids??

It’s my birthday this weekend. I am in a new city, don’t have any friends here, and separated from the boy I moved here for. I had weekend project work planned to keep my mind off the fact that I’m alone. But the work just got cancelled.

So I adopted a cat during quarantine. Although I love him, having him seems to have worsened my anxiety. I would never give him away but the responsibility has been giving me severe anxiety.
