Yep. I taught middle school and hated it then moved to a k/1 class and hated it. I’m super happy in my 4/5 class and wouldn’t change for anything. (I’m mm sped)
Everyone has their strengths and preferences. It’s not a bad thing. As long as you keep trying with where you are until you can move grades. I have found that reviewing Yardsticks is a great way to focus in on what my age requires and needs. I hope you look for some things about your kids that make you happy. All grades have different rewards and challenges.
Yes. Keep searching for a better match. But any given year you may need to adapt.
I taught middle school 2 1/2 years. I liked the kids, but didn’t enjoy the attitudes. I’m very happy at the elementary level
Absolutely. I love lower elementary (TK-1) students. My husband upper elementary, (4-6).
I learned that we all have a niche on what we like. I taught 4th last year and then taught 2nd this year. I realize I enjoyed 4th better.
Of course! Everyone has their preferences and if you're doing something you like & feel comfortable with you are more likely to succeed
