I’m a 34yr manager in corp dev at a Canadian utility ($2B rev) operating in Canada and US. Hours are no more than 40 a week and I make 165k CAD. I have a PE, CFA and MBA. Career path is pretty slow. My wife is an anesthesiologist ($450k/yr CAD). We live in a tier 2 city in Canada. I want to move and try to get a infra PE / asset manager role in US/ Toronto. Big 4 reached out to be manager. Any advice. torn between staying for pension and trying to pivot at 34 and moving to US.

I only started at PwC a couple of months ago, but I started getting hunted down by Amazon. I just passed my technical interview with them and I am moving on to the loop interview. What I want to know is... does anyone have experience at both? In my head, as a Solutions Architect, Amazon (or any FAANG) is a feather in my cap. That being said, PwC has been great, and seems like a great company. Would you leave PwC for an AWS Solution Architect position?

Just got a new job offer as. Cybersecurity Senior Manager. Big promotion from being a senior. Just wanted to know what my comp should be since I wasn’t planning on getting an offer.

My partner threatened to leave me if I don't stop working because I'm completely overtaxed and have become a nightmare to be around, and we don't need the money. This is obvious a terrible thing for them to say, but it was in the moment and they expressed they didn't mean it as a real threat afterwards. Other than telling me they should go to therapy, should I be considering taking time off? I love my job and sometimes I think it's actually the only thing that's providing a modicum of sanity.

I completed an initial phone screen and the 3rd party recruiter knew nothing about the details of the role. I had a list of questions and she only had the answer to one question. How is this okay? I went in there thinking I could gather good insight from the recruiter to better prepare for the next round.
