Completed onsite interviews for the TAM role and recruiter gave me feedback that my technical depth wasn’t up to par for the role but my googleness/leadership and GCA interview feedback was stellar so they plan to propose me for Cloud PM roles instead. Does this happen? Or are they just being nice? What’s the probability that they’ll match me to another role?

Recruiter reached out to schedule what I am quite sure is going to be a rejection after my on site. Anything productive I can try to get out of the call? Maybe future consideration?

Happy Monday! I cleared multiple rounds for a PM role and am currently in the team match phase. My recruiter left on maternity leave and handed over to another recruiter. The new recruiter is refusing to get on a call with me stating very frivolous reasons such as they could not read my email request as it went to spam etc. Its been over two weeks and they haven’t contacted me since. Should I be worried? Who do I talk to that can help move my candidacy?

Do roles reposted on LinkedIn mean anything? Or is that just the process of reposting roles a few times until someone fills the role? I applied to a role 3 weeks ago, haven’t heard anything back. Worried they saw the initial applications (including mine) come in, went “yuck”, and tried again by reposting…

California tax question. I moved overseas in November 2020 establishing a rental agreement in a different country. I sold my California registered car in May 2021 (my ONLY California asset). In total, I spent ~36 days in California during 2021. I use my mother's California house as an address to receive packages and letters. I don't intend to return to California, as I want to buy a house in Texas. I have a potential $70,000 CA tax bill due to capital gains from a long-term investment.

People with a naturally loud voice, how do you keep it low in regular conversations? PEOPLE THINK THAT I’M YELLING WHEN I’M SPEAKING IN MY NORMAL VOICE, AND PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT. But when I yell, that’s obviously earth shattering. The number of times I’ve told my wife I wasn’t yelling is too high.

The scariest day of my life was the day I woke up in the middle of the night in my loft apartment with someone sitting at the foot of my bed and another one downstairs pacing back and fourth. For the first 2 minutes I was paralyzed with fear. I could not move. I still have nightmares about it. Please lock your doors.

One of my coworkers is a great guy, but way too religious. I was stressed about project deadlines and he told to me to stop worrying and trust God to handle it. I forgot my meds at home and he claims God would cure my disorder like God magically cured his HIV. Some coworkers got annoyed when his answer to everything is God and told him off. He got offended and told me God told him to find a new job that’s less toxic. I could go on, but I’m sure we all experienced someone this dense.

The past few months I’ve lost ambition and motivation in my career. Have worked hard to climb my way up the corporate ladder and now report to the CEO but I feel unmotivated and have no interest in looking for a new job and working in a corporate position altogether.

I grew up listening to country music. While it wasn’t the only thing I listened to, it was a plurality. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve slowly started to realize how much is stinks. Don’t get me wrong there is some stuff i like, but generally it’s just garbage. It’s just a bunch of repeating tropes,and twang. Can’t decide if I feel this way because I’ve changed, it has gotten worse, I now associate it with Trumpism, or it’s really always been this bad.
