Definitely underpaid. You should be making at least 75-80k as a senior

Agreed with all the above. Minimum you should be at the range that D1 mentioned

Just make sure you get some data points ready to back up your case on fair and median market pay range for your role when going to HR

Very low. Talk to them and/or start interviewing.

Depending on line, S1 these days can get 6 figures and a hefty sign-on. You're very underpaid.

No firm is going to give staff a 30-50 percent bump though, they'll give you a long story about how it all evens out in the long run blah blah blah. Make friends or a contact at a firm or two, express interest and it will take almost no time for an interview.

Deloitte Tax just paid their current seniors and managers 20k just to stay put. You'd best believe they (and all competitors) will pay over that as a sign-on to get you to jump.

I’m making 87K in Utah

like

Lmao I was making more than that as an associate in STL

58 seems low. I would expect 70-80 as your region isn’t a high cost of living region.

like

I was $59.5k as a S1 a few years ago in a low cost of living city (Jakson MS). I believe S1s now are at $73-75k

This is what I thought. I work in tax and accounting outsourced compliance services, not at big4 but definitely at a top 10 firm

Make the move. A friend in a similar position but at a smaller firm moved to a top 10 and is currently over 90k (MCOL).

Context: trying to go to grad school next year. Was hoping to get promo for extra boost in resume. Despite seeing other colleagues ( diff team) get promoted. . Salary discrepancy is a big issue.
As per their own market policy the package of a team lead or a consultant should be around 13 lpa excluding variable. But maximum employees are getting 2/3 of that.
Cant wait to quit and move on to some other company.
Work life balance is becoming a myth now!
And every year they layoff in one or other dept in the name of reorg.
People in MIS got upto 50-60% hike. And some people are working below the pay range.

I clearly don’t have the transactional experience on my resume, why do they even want to interview me? Or am I doing something wrong during the interview??
