I feel like I'm making a very basic error here, but I'm not sure what. I'm interested in opportunities with Google's Professional Services Organization (PSO). However, my applications to PSO, to date, always end with a standard reject email. I've tried applying three times. Don't plan on applying again anytime soon. But every time I've rewritten my resume to super closely match the requirements of the role. Is there something concrete PSO recruiters are looking for? I am 2xGCP certified.

Roles in pso are very technical. Most everyone we hire was one of the top people at their previous firms.

We look for implementation, lead architects, a mix of tech and leadership.

Avoid telling us what you were responsible for and tell us what problems you solved. What did you build or architect.

All of those are interesting

😅 kinda don't know anyone at Google. Networking on LinkedIn has been slow. Won't say it's been a complete dud - just slower than what I would have liked. So, the PSO roles just say "... consultant" in the job title. Some roles say "at least 7 YOE". I meet that easily. I guess the name of the game is networking for me. Thank you!

I can refer you. DM me.

Do you have a referral? Are you applying to super senior positions?

A. Find a role that aligns very closely to your expertise. You need to have deep experience or good YOE for most of the Pso roles

Hi everyone. Currently I work as a tipped employee, but I’m interviewing for a salary art gallery job and the annual pay is about half what I’m making at a restaurant! How do I negotiate that without seeming greedy? Or do I even say anything? Help (it’s my first salary job)

I just received a job offer at a company I'm very interested in working for (yay!). Their salary offer, however, is at the bottom end of the range specified in the job ad. In my initial interview, I said that my salary expectations align with the range specified by the ad. So, my question is do I ask for more? Or do I just accept the offer? The company benefits are decent and I would get stock options, and it's fully remote - if that influences your answer.

What do y'all think?

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

Suggestions welcomed for a business casual outfit leaning heavily towards the more casual end of the spectrum that won’t shout covid weight gain?

This might be a stupid question - how do you get talking to a recruiter? I’ve put in a couple of applications but not had anything back - I’m pretty self aware but genuinely think I’m a very good fit (on paper at least), and feel like talking to a recruiter would help either concretely explain why im perhaps not a good fit, or actually give me a fighting chance amidst a sea of resumes. Any help welcome!
