I feel like I’m my honeymoon period at my new job is ending. I haven’t had any negative incidents, but it just feels like the vibe has changed. Any thoughts on navigating it?

Fell off the keto track for this week, any suggestions on how to get back on track?

Starting keto next week. What should I expect in terms of “keto flu” and any other symptoms the first week (or more?)

Curious if most of you track Net Carbs vs Total Carbs? I’m finding it difficult/demotivating to just track Total.

Has anybody here started keto and seen a reduction in their a1c? I started in September after mine went up to 7. Gonna have it rechecked next month and I’m excited to see if it made a big difference.

Accepted an offer and my start date is mid October. I asked about background check results and if they were going to send me an email once everything was cleared. I was told they don’t do that. How am I supposed when to put my 2 weeks notice ? I wanted to take some time off between jobs but I want to have everything cleared before doing so.

As realtors, our worst and best friend are the contractors, being friends with the contractor that remodelled a home you are going to sell is a plus because you can know for sure what kind of improvements were made to the house and why; and what kind of things are pending to be improved, that way you can provide real information to the client. You know what they say: a happy client always comes back to you.

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

Have any M&A associates (a) gone in house and re-tooled to a more commercial counsel role and (b) found that the hours are actually better in their new role (ie little to no night and weekend work)? Considering a move in house but get concerned that I’d be dealing with the same hours for less pay.

How far do you require depts be with negotiating commercial contract terms before your legal review? I’m talking routine low value and risk contracts (e.g., vendor services), where Legal terms won’t kill the deal. My clients blindly forward contracts. I say “are you sure this term is ok?” And often get “no.” They’re surprised because they never read them. Checking the temp to see what others experience, what might be normal. I feel contract training in my clients’ future...

Any advice on starting a law department of 1? Starting a new gig next month for a small but very profitable company that hasn’t had an in house attorney in some time. New to an in-house role. No one here has my expertise so they’ve basically given me the keys to drive. The problem is that for some critical decisions, I want to get us all on the same page.

Everyone is super busy and it’s tough to get responses or feedback. Sometimes the silence feels like disapproval (though I thought they were generally happy to have me.)

Am I overthinking it? Is this common?
